New keeblerorc stuff for Daniel 1 Year ago
I am so excited. I just received some new toys from KeeblerOrc. Before I show you my new stuff, I want to ask you not judge his stuff based on my poor photography. :-)

I orderd a couple of his square fire pits. Here is my square pit with the orage fire, he does other colors as well. I realize you can't tell the light is on in this photo.

Next up is the small pool. It is made with some glow in the dark paint. I realize this does not show up in the photo but my son loved the effect.

Next we have some stalagmites. They also have been painted with the glow in the dark paint. Very cool effect that I could not capture on the photos.

One of the elements you will really want to get is small sewer grates. They are free standing and thus could be added anywhere. The first picture shows it against the wall and the second one shows it away from the wall so you can see what it is.

Last but not least by any means is my latest round fire pit. As I am looking forward to my Chamber of Sorrows sets, I ordered a round fire pit painted in red and black. I also had him do it with green fire. I thought it would be more creepy that way. :-)

I admit I am addicted to KeeblerOrcs stuff. Some wonderful work. Drop him a line at johnkeebler@charter.net or look him up on ebay. You will not be sorry.

That small sewer grate (or should that be small sewer great?) is a nice piece to indicate or access dungeons and/or cellars.

For glow in the dark, have you considered turning the lights down and using a slow setting on your camera? Many digital cameras have settings for "twilight" or "candles" that might catch the effect.

Thanks Daniel for the Ever Flowing Positive Wave of Feedback!

Jack thanks for the GREAT Grate! Comment.... You Guys....

This picture might get help with the Grate and Pool sizes/shapes.

The first shows the Grate in the background with a new fire pit with cauldron which I'll be selling soon.... the Grates will probably be in a set of 12.

The second picture shows the size of the small pool ( it has not had the clear added yet in the picture ). Also shown are some bronze statue wall add-ons and the New Mystical Blue fire pit with blue flames and light.
Notice Grate hiding in the back.

I will post pics of the grates when I have made a production mold. There will be 2 types at this point one's with the Plinth at the base so as to be vision ports to an area below and some without which that would serve as drainage or sewer drains.

More Soon.

And thanks again for the Wave of Positive Daniel...

Oh yeah... one last pic.... stalag's at top, pools at center, pits at bottom.

@jackattack: Thank You, I will get out my manual and see if the camera has such a setting. And I agree, I loved the possable uses for the sewer grate.

@keeblerorc: You are welcome. I really like how the Chamber fire pit turned out. I can't wait for my DW to arrive so I can use it.

Nice work keebler i was wondering what medium do you use to sculpt with all your things look awesome. ive been getting into sculpting and havent had bad results but sculpey isnt really cutting it anymore and was hoping you might have a suggestion. I ordered some supersculpey firm so its on the way. My email is <la.realite.verte@gmail.com> without the <> if youd just like to email me either way thanks and great work!

Hey Crimson_King_of_the_Tower,

There isn't one medium I work with...

I use 'Original' Sculpey for a lot of things... I personally don't like Super Sculpey.... but one of my best friend's that is incredibly more artistically talented than I love's the stuff. Original Sculpey is pretty forgiving to work with but like all Sculpey's has to be baked... One Secret I use with Sculpey is to bake at 20-25 dergee's lower temp for 20% longer... makes it easier to carve.

My favorite medium is Kneadatite Epoxy Putty but its a finicky medium to get use to and very expensive per pound. Don't expect to get use to it without throwing away a few bucks.

Sometimes I use KleenClay because it doesn't set up but can be heated to a liquid... poured into a silicone mold and then refrigerated to a solid to be worked.

Often I pour resin and carve that when real stiffness is needed.... If I need softer rigidity to carve I will add Talc Power or Micro Balloons to the resin.

Sometimes Hydrostone or Plaster of Paris works to build up a basic shape.

I don't want to overwhelm the question buts its like trying to answer someone as to "what do you draw with" or "paint with"... I really think you just have to play with stuff that works for you. When I started using Kneadatite Epoxy Putty I bet I threw away $200-300 worth of the stuff...
I basically started making basic shapes to get a feel as to the setup rates then started playing the addition game of joining shapes to build new shapes..... then skinning the overall to add details and textures.

Its the same with each material.... If You Ask Stefan... he will probably give you similar advice.... Pick a materiel and play. None of them do everything you want.

I owe John Keebler a mention or four, some photo's and a video is planned...
(Not another video I hear you all groan :D Give me till the Summer Holidays before I get 'the table' back...)

I have so far got:
5 x Gelatinous Cubes
10 x 'coloured' Transparent Dungeon Creatures Slimes Oozes Cubes & Jellies
+
8 x painted Dungeon Creatures Slimes Molds Puddings Lurker Trapper

These are all great & look better in 'the flesh'.
I also have 'en-route':
4 x Giant Flickering LED Fire Pit For Use With Dwarven Forge

Once these have arrived I will create a 'Dungeon into Caverns' set-up and both photograph and video this to show you just how fantastic John's work is. (As well as a great ebay seller. Very fast speed, snugly packaged in good study packaging. Ships internationally from the US to the UK. Never a problem)

Hey keebler thanks for all the info i really appreciate it i really like using regular sculpey its worked well for everything so far that ive done. The ONLY problem i have with it is that after a while of sculpting cobblestone walls like the DF ones it hardens back up and when i try to do that corners it sorta just crumbles or breaks off. other than that its really great. I cant wait to start doing some more and post some pictures, keep up the great work man

I've bought Keebler's terrain and it is beautiful. I love how it goes with my DF stuff. I hope he continues to design new things that we can not find elsewhere.
