Greetings Marcel!

Whereas I can not speak with familiarity on "Descent: Journeys in the Dark" I can say that if it's a dungeon you're going to build, then Dwarven Forge will certainly make you happy.

Without knowing anything about the dungeons in Descent, I can assume the nature of them will almost certainly correspond with the Classic Dungeon line of sets available in the Products section of the main page. Or you may click just click here: Classic Dungeon Sets While you're there search the other products using the vertical tabs that link to other lines of Dwarven Forge sets. It's impossible not to find something in your "Shopping Cart" after the fact.

I will caution you against hesitation as inventory is limited, and invite you to post some pictures in the Cool Photos section of this forum when you create your first Descent dungeon setting, as I'd like to see some of the layouts myself. ...I hope that is of some help to you!

Welcome!

I've played Descent a few times with friends and I would say that it is quite possible to build up a "decent" Descent map using DF pieces, albeit tedious. For this game, the overlord needs areas where line-of-sight is obscured so that he can spawn monsters. These are mostly single 1 inch by 1 inch squares that are found within corners. Most DF pieces are designed with walls that are straight for 2 inches and this why it is somewhat of a challenge to build a Descent map because of that. My suggestion would be to use a 4*4 room with 4 openings such as this one:

Each corners of this square piece comes with the corners that have walls that are the dimensions you need: 1 inch long. These pieces comes in 2 lines of sets: the Realm of the Ancients (ROTA) and the Den of Evil (DOE), available in the limited edition section. I would say that the DOE line is more appropriate to the feel of Descent. Unfortunately, the DOE room & passage Set is out-of-production but you can find some on eBay sometimes.

Hope that helps!
