pre-painted accessories 2 Years, 2 Months ago
Not sure if it's the right place to post this but, here it goes!

seeing all the nice pics you guys are posting, im more and more realizing that i should get more accessories for my setup. I bought most of the DF ones, but im missing things like book shelves and all.

now, i know that i could buy from Grendel, Thomarillion, etc. but im a really bad painter, i dont have much time, and i dont like it that much (probably because i dont like the result.

so, i was wondering if any of you know a place(online if possible) where i could buy some pre-painted accessories that would complement the ones from DF? I checked on eBay, but im not sure i want to pay $30+ for book shelves, when i can almost get a DF accessories package for that price.

any ideas?

thanks!

Well, buying from Yansolo is always a good way to go, even with the price. You can be assured of an excellent, high quality piece. The Tooskerdoo ebay shop has some reasonably priced pieces, as does Showcase. They aren't in the same quality category as Yansolo but cost much less.
I would also check out Psom Miniatures. Morgar has some very nice pieces there.

There is also this: www.magneticdisplays.co.uk/models.asp
He calls this "Ralpartha resin buildings" but they are in fact pre-painted Grendel!

You can commission your unpainted accessories to a professional painter! The end result will most certainly depend about how much you are willing to pay! There's no way around that! Everyone's got to make a living and it takes an awful lot of time to paint decently. The only solution I see is commissioning someone from an emerging country where hourly wages are far inferior to Western countries. I found such services (www.miniaturelovers.com/) but never used them as I'm a pretty decent painter.

A source of very cheap, fast and beautiful accessories: carpets!
They do not need painting, they have intricate woven patterns and they bring a lot of color to a DF room. I got mine from: www.miniaturewovencarpet.com/
