Re:Max height of DF 2 Years, 11 Months ago
My medieval game room is 14x16. The garage is 20x20 but my wife just got a 2008 Sienna Limited. She has already expressed her umm displeasure at taking over the garage to stain all the paneling for the game room. You all may recall that I'm paneling all the walls, ceiling, and floor. It's a 1000 sguare feet. I will have to make this smaller room work.

I did figure out how to store 28 DF sets, 1100 minis, and about 40 MBA sets. I was able to put shelving in my 2x6 closets every 5 inches in height. So each closet has about 10 shelves that are 18 inches in depth and 6 feet wide. Finding shelf brackets that are 20 long was very hard. I also got Sterlite 6 quart plastic containers. Each DF set will fit in this " shoe box" size plastic container. I labeled other containers A-Z for my minis.

Those old IO posts sure bring back memories. The build for Lost Caverns of Zoroaster was one that was actually used in a D&D game. We used it for one of the early adventures in the Dungeon/Paizo adventure path, Shackled City, which I ran for IO and a group of other players. We played through that whole adventure path in 3rd edition D&D, from first through 20th level, over the course of about a year and a half, if I remember correctly.

Update on the medieval game room. Man, has this project turned into A LOT of work and a pain in the butt. I finally got all the wood stained and ready. The staining process for each board was six different steps. The moisture barrier and sub-floor is down and the firing strips are going up today for the walls. I also ordered my weapons to hang up on the wall; two medieval swords, an hammer, and a helmet (for decoration). I also found an old and battered painting of a monk!

Check out the links on the weapons stores.ebay.com/Medieval-Swords-and-Armours?_trksid=p4340.l2563

The weapons are made in the same manner is in the medieval era.

I hope to have the wood up in two weeks. The wood has to acclimate to the indoor tempature before it can be installed.

Will be a good size game room , plenty of wall space For all your art and weapons. How many Fulltime players will you be slaying,,,,,,I mean hosting in game room ? do you have a regular group or will you be seeking players?

I have two players already committed because they are helping design and build the room. My 15 year old daughter may also play. This would leave two spots that I will post as an open call to my gaming association where I'm posting the pics and discussion. I only want four players most gaming session since I'm a new GM. I figure many gaming sessions will have one player absent.

Re:My Gaming Room Progress UPDATE! 2 Years, 10 Months ago
After an incredible amount of work, stress, and effort the wood paneling in my room started going up today! I'm really happy with how it's looking so far. The rest of the paneling should be done tomorrow. The wrought iron sconces and light fixture are scheduled for Friday evening. The ceiling is complete and over half the flooring is done. You can also see the much thinner strips of wood going up on the walls laying on the floor.
