Looks like another company is stepping into the prepainted minis market:

Link!

Seems like a pretty modest beginning, but at least they're releasing something a bit unusual instead of more orcs and skeletons.

Yay! These are very very cool, and can be used for a variety of applications. Especially that vine one for the new DF set. :] I will certainly help out by buying a few when they come out sometime this fall.

"We decided to start small with 4 sculpts and keep it simple. Depending on how well these do in the market, we plan to make more!"

And those 4 sculpts are ALL basically tentacles. This is why 90% of small businesses fail: poor decision-making. Wow. Nice tentacles, though. Hope the price point isn't too high.

I'll reserve judgement on their decision-making until I know the price of the items, and the packaging.

If they are the right price, they might go like hotcakes. It seems like every time a painted tentacle shows up in a photo here, at least three people want to know where it came from. So the demand is there.

If they go for a reasonable price, perhaps with a discount for larger lots (ten? a dozen?), and are sold in uniform sets (all octopus tentacle, all vine, etc) as well as mixed sets, they might do okay.

I just heard about these today, and came to post about them.

Those vines would work great for some sort of gaurd/trap for the new Elven set.

I could have used those grabber ones for my Dionoga.

I want a bunch of these.

About 10 years ago I was teaching a marine science unit to a group of third graders, so I drew a picture of a giant Pacific Octopus on the white board (it was excellent if I do say so myself). I pointed to its arms and asked the class if anyone knew what the correct term was and a little boy answered “Those are his testicles and he uses them to catch crabs”. I almost died of laughter. My students had no idea what was so funny but they joined in the guffaws at the sight of their giant teacher reduced to toddler like giggles.

That's a good story. I hope that kid isn't working for this company, I wouldn't want any testicle minis sent to me by mistake.
