So, Dillman, did you place your giant order? Curious minds want to know.

the Sea Monkeys got me too.....as well as a Willy Wonka Chocolate factory, and a multi colored underwater fishbowl growing castle of some sort...I didn't order the hovercraft though...or the X Ray vision glasses...

I also remember something about a puny dude getting sand kicked in his face on the beach....

I must have been a dull kid, I loved my sea monkeys! I even named them! I was furious when my mom tossed them out after I was carefully trying to follow the instructions that said to let all water evaporate and to reactivate them.

Aaah, the fishbowl colored castle thing, yes I had that too. Maybe the sea monkeys would have been happier there. Never fell for the x-ry specs ( but wouldn't that be cool if they worked?) but I did get som of the army men they sold on the back cover. They were small but good and you got quite a few. I have always wondered though how the hercules armbands could make you stronger.......

No I haven't. I've left three voice mails and an email. No reply. I can't place the order due to the system won't allow me to calculate shipping because the order's weight is way to heavy. Oh well. I was getting a good deal because of the large order. I know DF been busy since Gen Con, but I've been waiting a week for a reply. However, I just had a internationally known gamer contact me that's selling his $20,000+ massive gaming set. Maybe I can get the DF I need from him?

Ahh, guys you bring back some sad but fine memories. I remember well the back of many a comic book with the skinny guy getting sand kicked in his face. I was 6' 2" weighing in at an impressive 143 lbs. I was that skinny guy! I also remember well the sea monkeys! HOW ABOUT THEM X-Ray glasses? My parents would never let me buy those sea monkeys, glasses, or cool magic tricks.

Here's a topic starter....I did get about 400 comic books while I was a kid. Some of the comics I got used were 15-20 years old in the mid 70's! That's why I remember those ads on the new comic books from the 70's. I called my mom in the late 80's and said I wanted to get my comics out of the attic and bring them home. She said, "Oh sweetie I'm sorry I gave then all away." I said, "Why would you do that they were in the attic out of the way?" She GAVE AWAY my 400+ comics! Some dated back into the early 60's, maybe the 50's. "sniffle'sniffle" I need a hug :(.

OUCH! I feel your pain brother, but at least your mother fessed up. When I asked my mother where all my old star wars, GI Joe, Star Trek and Super Hero action figures were from the 70's she simply shrugged and said, "Honey, I haven't seen those things in years, who knows what happened to them!"

I was too smart for the Sea Monkeys (I learned from my older brothers), but man I wanted that full size two man mini sub! Does anyone remember that sub? I did get the army man set and it was very cool, until my older brother bit their heads off. The tanks and things were out of scale but it was still sweet.

Monkplayer,

Those look complete other than the missing torches. I need them for my set too, the hazrds of buying used on ebay.
Here is a ver useful link you should save that lists the components of the various older sets.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the comics. However there I can only blame myself. I sold all of mine for the paltry sum of $50 right before I joined the army. Many had been read so much they were not in good shape but it would still be nice to have them. A greater loss though were my old Advanced DnD books. They were given to a friend for safekeeping and when he went to med school his mom put the box and placed the box in their outside storage room. That's where the mice ate our books, made nests in them etc. Between the two of us we lost some cool old books, maps, issues of Dragon, campaign notes, and characters. I have since replaced all but the character sheets and other handmade items from purchasing on ebay. But it's not the same........
