Hi, guys.

I wanted to share a link with you to my new web site and blog, Dante's Game (www.dantesgame.com)

I've been working on a scratch-built building for my tabletop fantasy RPG, so that's what takes up most of the site under the Workbench section, but there are also picture galleries and other stuff on the site as well.

I'll probably wind up building out a section dedicated to Dwarven Forge setups, but I have enough to keep me busy at present!

Take care and I hope you enjoy the site. Feedback is welcomed.

First - LOVE the banner!!!

Second - nice all around layout - very eye-pleasing. Did you have help designing the web-site or is this something you have experience with?

Third - Very interesting articles for Master Mellilot's Scriptorium! Any chance we can get the RPG crunch & Fluff as well as the building tips? Seems like an ideal place to plunk down in my Ptolus game!

Thanks, Harneloot & Stefan!

Harneloot--That's a Reaper mini I painted. It's sitting in front of one of the DF Cavern pieces. I used a filter package in Photoshop to get the painted on or breakthrough effect.

I put the blog together using WordPress and used a theme called "Soho-Serenity" designed by a wonderful designer named, Mina. I modified the theme template a bit (yes--I have experience working with web pages--been doing graphics design and web work for just over 15 years now).

Regarding the building project posts, I'm not 100% sure what you mean by RPG "crunch & fluff"... are you talking about something like a game report or something different? Let me know and I'll see what I can do!

There are at least two other "major" sections that will be added to the site this summer: Malachai's Cohort (a graphic novel that I had posted previously on the web that features the adventures of our gaming group in photo representation with accompanying story line), and a general thread on current scenarios that I'm running for my group.

Hey Dante...

By "Crunch & Fluff" I mean the story behind Master Mellilot's Scriptorium, Master Mellilot's stats, the floorplan, adventrue hooks, inventory etc :)

Woot! Somebody recognized the name! ;-}~ Yes--I'm a huge TW fan. Got to meet and hang out with Bob Asprin several years ago in the French Quarter, New Orleans, LA. Drank and shot pool with him from around 9:30 PM till 6:30 the next morning! Man, what a night. Had him autograph my copy of Tales from the Vulgar Unicorn. Turns out he only lived about 45 minutes from where I grew up, so we had a lot to talk about. He was a great guy as far and as long as I knew him.

The Vulgar Unicorn will probably be my next scratch-build project once I get this other monster built out.

His recent death hit people all over the world. Pretty cool that you got to hang with him.

I have maps of the Vulgar Unicorn from the old Chaosium RPG and the new one from Green Ronin if you like. But you may just want to do your own version as anything is really valid.

You might find this fun. I am running a game in Sanctuary. I started it last fall and just ended this season (wow did we have fun). There will be another player journal posted over the next couple of weeks. We will pick up again in September. Just in case you don't notice right at first glance, you read the posts from bottom to top if you want proper cronolgoy. I know this is becoming more common but I like to still point it out to save people a moment of time. The first journal starts midway in the thick of things but if you stick with it it is a great read.

I loved the old Thieves World boxed game set from Chaosium, which had stats to run with AD&D, RuneQuest, and several other game systems. My favorite part was Prince "Kitty-Cat" Kadakithis and his advertisement enticing people to Sanctuary. "Each year people throng to Sanctuary in the tens!"

I have that Chaosium boxed set. It's a great supplement. I also picked up the Green Ronin RPG at GenCon year before last(?). Got Lynn Abbey, Rob Schwalb, and Gary Astleford(?) to sign it at a speech they gave to introduce the books.

I have my group in a real pickle right now--a plague has broken out in Sanctuary and has spread to another continent (that the players are on). They have to get to Sanctuary to find the source and the cure. Funny how I got them on this adventure path before the swine flu scare. Now they're just looking at me very suspiciously. lol

The way I got them connected with Sanctuary was pretty cool. The party was standing off to the side watching a zealot being hauled away for questioning (he was the spokesperson for an outlawed cult). The zealot was being roughed up a bit and unwittingly dropped a scarf that he had tucked into his belt. One of my players covertly scooped it up and saved it for inspection later. When she returned to her room at the inn, she was studying the scarf--how the colors were so vibrant and life-like, how the scene seemed so real and had such depth... then BOOM! She was inside of the scene. She had inadvertently stumbled upon a hand-painted silk scarf that Lalo the Limner had painted. The character, Deadra, wound up in Lalo's studio in Sanctuary, thus establishing a connection between the two worlds.
