Anyone seen this in person? Know who's making it?

"Better quality than Dwarven Forge Master Maze" is quite a statement - maybe this is crossing the line?

Never heard of them can't find a listing on the Minatures page, a google search turns up nothing on them either. The Join date for E-bay is yesterday so they look like a brand new company.

Not sure i'd spend the $20 in it + shipping as heck using HA i have made almost the exact same things for my self.

Geez, can't ANYBODY make a crappy product without trying to drag DF's good name through the mud?

Enlarge that second picture. Not only does the piece show signs of warping, it isn't even a very good representation of a mine floor.

Yeah--if it was a mine floor, it should be made of dirt with rocks and other debris scattered about. Some rails on the tiles and what not.

I saw this item today. I dislike when empty claims or boasts are made about their product over DF's product, which has proven quality track record for the last 12 years.

I hope nobody bids/buys it.

The seller lives in Surrey, so it can't be a high quality product. Hahaha! Sorry, but for those of you who've never visited Vancouver, Surrey is the most dangerous, least attractive, drug and gang populated suburb of the Metro Vancouver area.

(Not so) Seriously though, that ad claims a lot. Jeff, Stefan, if you guys need somebody to lean on this guy, lemme know. It's just a 20 minute drive.

No. This is a matter for lawyers. A good cease-and-desist is what that jerk needs, followed by a civil suit that will make his... wallet... clench.

Thanks for the concern guys but we try not to worry for a second about what other people are doing -- or saying. Heck, he might even be right! I can't tell from the pics. All I know is that we strive to make the world's finest miniature terrain -- and I think it is good for us to have someone come around from time to time and kick a little sand in our face. It keeps us stiving to push the envelope even further -- which is even better for all us DF fans. So just think of this as someone helping to make the next DF set even better.

OK, so every time I see something like this I hope to pick up some oddball pieces that are of the same quality as DF.

Yes, I am a DF fanatic, but as a true capitalist, I am also open to other products... as long as they of of equal or better quality.

If you zoom up on these pieces you'll notice the warp in the floor tile. With such poor quality, these tiles will likely wobble.

A note to future would-be rip-off artists. If you're gonna play in the big leagues you really need to pick up your game. .... and after seeing ROTA in person, I seriously doubt anyone other than DF can top that quality any time in the next decade.

It's not the entry into the market -- someone other than DF making indoor terrain -- that bothers me, it's the use of the DF name in a negative context.

If a company/individual has a product that they are proud of, then they should let it stand on its own merits. I have no problem with someone claiming DF compability, or saying they were inspired by DF, or using DF as a quantifiable benchmark ("made of a unique polyresinstone 25% stronger than DF materials", for example).

It's probably even fair to say their product is cheaper than DF (if it is), but it isn't fair to accuse DF of being overpriced.

It is definitely out-of-bounds to assert that their quality is higher than DF's, when their own pictures clearly show that the artistic value and the production quality are decidedly not.

As Aracon says, if an individual/company wants to compete in the indoor terrain market, they need to make a good product. They shouldn't try to tear down DF to justify their product's shortcomings.

lol....I have a pretty good hunch who this is.....it would be nice to see close ups of all the other pieces...or a list of the types of pieces you get...or a picture of the packaging...is there felt on the bottoms of the pieces? And There is only a 7 day return policy, why so short If it's better than our products? By the time you get the package your time to return might allready be up. Making such a challenging claim to my products and my pride should be backed up with something of substance at least....If they truly were so good, and if the sellers approach were of a better tone, I might of bid on one myself...as it is, I am actually a bit wary, on top of the sand in my face...
