So it's no secret that I've been drooling over ROTA and grabbing up all sorts of minis and accessories that I think will flesh the place out. And I have to admit, I may have hit rock bottom. I bought a ton of stuff from... a doll's house furniture website.

The thing is, they've got some really cool stuff! It's out of scale in the sense that you couldn't get VERY tiny things, but some of the stuff that's about 1-2 inches high works for something like ROTA. These massive vases, massive urns, massive garden and patio decorations, they really do kinda make sense for an ancient culture, the contents of a ruined temple, etc. I'll post pics eventually, but when ROTA comes out, expect me to post a ton more. I'm not talking about huge birdfeeders or hammocks, but, you know, planters and things like that.

This, btw, is in general the look I'm going for. This Sargent painting has these massive vases in it, and the MFA in Boston has the painting in the same room as the vases themselves. Now I have some for ROTA as well. :)

My y chromosome screams out at typing that name -- it somehow manages to make the whole thing even worse -- but they did have some great stuff. Check out this:

Ooooh - that might look quite nice tucked away in a corner of the ROTA!

L--you don't remember me posting about the doll house stuff I picked up a few years ago? lol... well, guess it has been awhile.

I found some really cool stuff--fish bones, actual fish that are in scale to 28mm minis, frames that you can use for paintings, skeleton keys, vases, statues, globes, etc. etc. etc.

Doll house suppliers have some really great stuff and I commend you for exploring those options!

At any rate, here's the link to the site that I found a couple of years ago:

Hey guys, Sandy & I found a dollhouse shop here in Baltimore (well, actually, it's about 25 miles north of town) called My Favorite Things. I don't know their web page, but they have a MEGATON of stuff for dollhouses, and some of it is in perfect scale for MBS, RotA, and MM! We don't get up there as frequently as we could, mainly because we've slacked of gaming lately, but whenever a game session DOES come up on the horizon, if I'm DM'ing it and need furniture or special goodies, that's one of the places we head for.
Also, I'm always keeping an eye out for S-scale model railroad stuff; whenever I run something that has a potential for contemporary interface (which I sometimes do, just for kicks - remember the Disney World computer game adventure?), I can use things from current scenery, and S-scale is 1:64th scale, almost exactly 25mm.
There are a LOT of different sources for gaming accessories that you can tap; it just takes creative thinking outside the box.

By the way, anyone going to Farpoint this weekend? If so, see ya there!
