Thanks Stefan, One thing we're looking at is to introduce anims into the PDFs to show the players, so you can back up the text with some visuals. However, we have 2 issues - the finished size of the file as well as the fact that we're NOT looking to create an animated DF. and are concerned that it'll detract from the pieces sitting on the table in front of you...

That said, such praise from the King of Caverns, Prince of Passages and er.. Wazier of Wicked Additions, humbles this lil Lord!

Thx for the tips PFworks.

We're not rich enough to haveMacs in the office - just a couple of kick-bottom PCs and a steam powered laptop. We know the PDF works with Acrobat Reader 7 and above and have used it on a 15", 19" and my personal fave, my 22" widescreen. I have also wired it up to our projector and had a 3 metre pdf staring at me - so THAT's all good.

As for software - we've considered this. I worked in the industry years back doing graphics and sound for games (did some really bad releases on Spectrum, Atari ST and Amiga) but the development costs can be either high or slow (if it's done by a 'friend') as well as detracting from the physical 'game'. Let's be honest, there's something about holding the figures in your hand and fighting over who has to refill the bowl of popcorn that beats any video game. I MISS those days.

Good Luck with the comp!

Ah, but with MSFT surface, you RFID tag (or somesuch) each of your minis and use them on the dynamic, fog-of-war map and the computer knows where everything is...

You can also reach over and grab a virtual char sheet, or as GM, update one w/o anyone noticing...

Spell cards, rules, tables and charts just a click away... Ah...

we were working on a dice roller to incorporate into the pdfs, it was all written, but turned out it was next to impossible to incorporate into the PDF as a 'pop up' layer. It'd be a separate page all to itself. But of a bugger flipping around different pages just to roll the dice - Ah well!

BTW - we've uploaded a few more images on the site to show you some of the 3D images that could be in the modules. A couple oare close-ups of individual DF pieces, but we've created a few full room shots complete with lighting effects.

Hope you like 'em.

L-C-Lord;

Looking GOOD! Those 3D modules and pieces are excellent! I'm thinking I'll be downloading Klym when I get home tonight to check it out.

I don't want to hog all the forum time here on this, so feel free to come to the Lair-Craft forum to keep up to date with our news. www.lair-craft.com/lair-craft-bb/ . You can also let us know there what pieces we should be adding to our 3D collections for use in future modules.

I also want to let you know that, all things being equal we'll be releasing our first e-Mod on Wednesday (see our forum to find out what's been happening - AGGGH).

FYI- we're just about there with our first e-Module.
It's currently being sent out to all our pre-orderers (if that's a word).

Thanks to them for the support.

With a little luck, they'll all come back happy in the next 24 hours, meaning we've not missed any glaringly obvious errors and it'll be up for general release tomorrow...

If we make our millions with these e-Mods, I promise we'll become European Stockists of DF and make all the guys over HERE happy bunnies too. ;)

hahah - I was one a few years back (Unsure if Stefan will remember me), but you never bought anything!
I gave a few pieces to FAntplastic magazine for a review and never sold a single thing in Spain (a FEW in Gibraltar). I moved house a few months ago and put a load of it up on e-bay - managed to sell a few sets that way (and make space in the garage for the car...). So WHERE WHERE YOU??? lol.

I don't know if when you were selling I knew DF... I started buying about 4 years ago, little by little, perhaps you didn't "spread the word" much, I can assure if I knew I would have taken it from your hands hahaha...

Here in Spain there's no much market for DF, and I think there will be the same until people could think that they can take some sets today and then have more tomorrow from somebody's stock at the same price, not paying the custom taxes and shipping by themselves, etc.

Some people in Spain have asked me lately to make large orders to DF, the problem is that they are not from my region, and I would have to send it to them, it would simply not work. If we had some stockist, eventually people would start buying... but is an expensive and long shot.

Greetings,

OK Folks, we're ready to rock n roll. Our first e-Module is now ready for Download.

Those of you who pre-ordered it have received links, and we've had nobody come up with any major flaws.

We've introduced a secure download system that integrates with Paypal. However, as it's new, we'd appreciate you letting us know if it works or not.

We'll be putting up a few more screenshots and stuff on the site soon, as well as releasing details of our next e-Mod - "It's An Ill Wind,...".

Feel free to come and join our Lair-Craft Forum, build the numbers up a bit, and let us know what you think about the e-Mods, and what you'd like to see in future publications...

Thanks Guys!
