Go to Owlcon! February 8th-10th, Rice University in Houston, first game starts at 8 pm Friday, last game ends at 7 PM Sunday. Preregistration ends in two days. We're still looking for volunteers! Special guest Aaron Allston!

I'll be running a giant Master Maze dungeon Saturday and Sunday*, so stop by and play a round!

*Something like 24 sets' worth of pieces. I'm starting to get worried about transporting it all!

dr. Elmo,

I did not forget about you. I had hoped to run a game, I think whitewind even volunteered to help me. Unfortunatly I found out a while ago that the championship swim meet for harris county is that weekend and as expected my son has made the championships so I did not want to attempt to do both. I may be able to at least stop by and see what you have going and to meet you. I hope to see you there.

Oh, there will be pictures, I assure you. Round 1 is so big, it doesn't fit on my staging table. Round 2 is more modest.

Shadox, I'll be in registration most of Friday, and in Farnsworth Pavilion all day Saturday and then Sunday morning. Stop by and introduce yourself.

Well you know that makes three of us on the boards that are a heavy artillery shell away from each other. Youd think we could manage to get together sometime to get a huge set up going. Problem is we would have to meet early so as to have time to put it together and then take apart.

Whitewind,

That sounds awesome. I plan on my big setup around march timeframe. Maybe we can do another after that with combined sets? I need to remove the seats from the van to actually haul my sets now or rent a uhaul. Nearing 80 sets and lots of misc pieces. Inventory to come in march.

By the way Greg I just ran across photos from 2006 or 2007 from owlcon on www.whiterose.org and it looks like your game is great! Good luck this year.

Sorry for my silence--it's been a monstrously busy six weeks. I haven't even dl'ed the pix off my camera yet!

Shadox, the whiterose pix you found are from my blog.

The 30-second post mortem of our event was "Our best yet". A really playable layout and a simple plot (kill monsters and take their stuff) with some complications (time warps!) let the players really have a good time. And the championship round, I couldn't have planned if I tried--it ended with simultaneous fatalities for a PC and the big bad (a huge red dragon). Twelve PCs, six dragons, and a human sorcerer in the final fight.

Sounds good to me Shadox. Just don't know when. March is slipping away. Owl Con seems like it was a hit this year. Can't wait to see the photos.
