I use water slide transfer sheets which can be purchased from a number of online stores as indicated.

The color that cannot be printed is white. So if you have stickrs, etc with a lot of white in them then you want to purchase some sheet having a white backing. For others a clear backing.

DO yourself a favor and purchase the slightly more expensive paper that will NOT require a setting agent to be sprayed on it.

Other then that find/make the labels you want, use your favorite photo program to size them and then print. But before printing on your expensive decal film print your decals out on normal paper in B&W to make sure they look ok (i.e. not too big, small, etc). Only when you are satisfied with all of that should you then use decal film

SInce I have a high-end laser jet and use Photoshop with very fine settings my decals are pretty much clear. However, my friend with a "normal" inkjet can easily make decals that look almost as good.

I have also purchased the HP foils (sorry showing age) clear paper to print on from an inkjet. I use this for faces that appear to talk to the PCs. Since you can see through it is kind of a nice effect. A little exacto knife and voila, I have a floating ghost head or whatever.

ALPS used to make their MicroDry line of printers, the MD-1000, MD-1300, and MD-5000. They could print WHITE on decal paper for beautiful decals!
Unfortunately, all three printers were temperamental at best, and were also very high-maintenance. ALPS discontinued them, but you can still find them on eBay. I did. BUT: be careful, there are people there who sell you one that they SAY is in working condition, until you get it from UPS or FedEx and it doesn't WORK! And there is NO RECOURSE now, from either the eBay vendor OR ALPS, because ALPS has closed down their factory reconditioning offer. It happened to me, and I can't even find a Tech and Service Manual for the damn thing!
Several companies offer white and clear decal paper, for laser or for inkjet printers. Until someone comes out with a replacement version of the ALPS MicroDry, that's the best bet, unless you can afford to have them done 'pad-print'.

For the Orwellian posters, try importing the monochrome picture into a paint program and stretch it vertically before printing it; it will give an 'el Greco' effect that will scare the bejabbers outta your characters (and possibly your GAMERS the first time they see it!).

Well my FLGS does have printable decal sheets. They are full sheet size and not to bad in price, both clear and white. At first i had no clue as to what to do with a full sheet, but driving home i figured out a decent number of things i could use them for so, over the next week or so i'm going to gather up some images and prepair to make some decals (maybe some stickers as well).
