While i was picking up some undead pirates for a different game at a $ store, i nipped into the KB right next door. Some of the Ghost Rider stuff may work well, put you'd have to rip it off the heads or hands (unless you want gouts of like 10-15 foot flames then some of the missles may work as well). Three to four seem pretty good to do decent 5 ft flame things, but the store i was at still wanted like $9 for the figs and that's too much for bits of flame, maybe TRU will be a bit cheap. So yeah check them out, The FF stuff looked horrible for the most part. There might be one fgood one rom the new Silver Surfer movie that is designed to wrap around the Human Torch that could go around a mini... but not sure again it was to pricey to get to test, when it marks down i'd try it.

Thank you everyone.

I actually went searching earlier today and checked-out most of the items suggested.

The Ghost Rider is definately one that I will be getting (after DF pre-orders).

The G9s I remember seeing downtown, so I'll get some of those and possibly experiment -so I can achieve a consistent "look". I think these will form a major part of my fire set -if all goes well.

The one piece I was really trying to find was the Human Torch, Titanium Edition. I'm not entirely sure what the base is made out of so I'd like to purchase it off the shelf -if at all possible.

L, May I ask what you used to colour and wash the plastic minis with? That would be a truly tremendous help!

Jim, I really like the appearance of the translucent, (coloured) plastic flames.
I guess I could have been more specific.

(...then rolls for diplomacy check)!

And yes, the spout of flame from the Colossal (red?) Dragon looked truly amazing!

Later.

I use Golden Fluid Acrylics for all my minis painting -- I gave the minis a very quick pass with a combination of yellow and raw sienna, something that left brushstrokes visible but gave a good basecoat. Then I diluted some darker brown with water and gave the thing an inkwash -- it took away the visible brushstrokes and gave everything some definition, in particular drawing out the details in the feathers and face.

I'll see if I can find pics to post...

L,

If you manage to get around taking (and posting) a pic, that would be really appreciated!

I have no doubts it looks great, I'm just having a really difficult time envisioning the effect.

Thanks again.
