Boston, New York, something NE what ever, ;) I don't mind (heck prefer Boston then i could just drive in each day closer to Beantown than NYC). I just say NYC becuase NYCComicCon was a decent success last year, and this year was a smashing success (i went this year and had a blast). The East coast, NE mostly, is Con starved. Yes there are some Big Historical Mini ones, but as some one who does not do Historical, there is no draw for me there.

Kradlo--I thought that was registration for events *that you want to participate in*--not run(?)
That may be. The girl from GenCon that I talked to seemed a bit confused. Their website operates poorly.

I've been told that I could submit a late event registration. The website was again uncooperative, but I submitted my event by email. We'll see if this works.

Whether my official game is accepted or not, I'd happily run an unofficial game for the Master Maze fans (and for Stefan and Jeff, of course).

As long as I have table space, I can run a game.

Edited to remove overemotional ranting. Remind self: be nice!

GS -

STARVATION is a good description. Here in Baltimore, we have 3 SF cons a year; Farpoint, Balticon, and Shore Leave, plus GW does Games Day, and I think that's usually in May or June. We once had an Origins, but that was over 10 years ago and it hasn't been back since. DC USED to have August Party, but that was almost strictly Media, and most of that was Star Trek. CastleCon ran one in Frederick and EveCon in DC, and there was a LOT of gaming there, but that's GONE!
I know Beantown usually does Noreascon, but I'm not sure when and I don't know how much (if any) gaming goes on there.
Ya know, you're right; East Coast NEEDS a decent genre-wide, non-specific game convention.

How about it, GenCon? Come take a look at the Baltimore Convention Center; go check out Madison Square, or the Javits Center in NYC; stop over in Boston and see what they've got to offer. For that matter, if all else fails, look into the DC Convention Center!
STOP IGNORING US!!!

Sorry about the rant, folks.

Success (I think)! My event for GenCon finally got submitted. "Friends in Low Places" will be a good old fashioned dungeon crawl for 4-6 players, level 8, set to run (hopefully) Friday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

We'll see what time/day slot changes happen, but when May rolls around and signups begin, I'd love it if the some of the forum regulars signed up for it.

With a new spawn in the oven, so to speak, I will not be able to make GenCon. Will look forward to seeing the pictures and hearing the tales.

Well, I know this might be weird posting a week after the fact, but, I got all of my events registered last week for GenCon. The bummer was that I wasn't able to book a single True Dungeon event! I was so irritated that every time slot I shot for was completely sold out. Even when I wanted to book another time that slightly overlapped another event that I had already registered, the system wouldn't allow me to do it.

Let me know if any of you guys are going to be at the tavern late night. I'd love to join up for a drink.

I've found the GenCon Indy website to be a monumental pain the hind quarters. It goes from glacially slow to completely unusable. I've tried to register for events, and it constantly bogs down, shows only the top banner, and generally drives me nuts.

Have any of the rest of you experienced this kind of problem with their website?

Yes, the GenCon site sucks. It was very frustrating trying to get into True Dungeon. The site seemed to nearly die when they opened it up to purchase those tickets. As popular as that activity seems to be, I wonder if Jeff has considered expanding it? Or maybe letting previous players to reserve a spot? Guess I should go to the TD forums for that answer though. :)
