Our male cat, Satsuki, has been nicknamed "Cat-thulhu," for his predeliction to jump on my gaming table and start swatting at minis. Given that I paint my own, we have to gently grab the boy and put him back down on the floor, or on my swivel chair (he likes chair rides).

For a good visual on what all this means, check out Dork Tower on the subject:

Krad -

THAT'S scary; it's also (along with my being allergic to them!) why Sandy and I don't HAVE any cats.

Typical conversation at my house:

"Has anyone seen <insert mini name here>?"

"Nope"

(Heavy sigh as I check the cats favorite hide-out for "toys")

"Nevermind- I found it!"

And that is why I lock the cats out of the gaming room (in the basement).

Hawk -

At least he doesn't EAT them; ever seen a Rotty with an appetite for plastic?
What this one guy alledges his rotty did to his D&D mini collection is nearly criminal.
Didn't bother the dog at all, though; the guy was scared some ASPCA type would come through and see bits of plastic in the yard "decorations" and raise holy Hell!

See ya!

Back when I was a teenager (that would be around the Cetaceous period, I think), we had a Great Pyrenees pup named Shadow. Despite her AKC certification, I'm convinced that Shadow was actually half beaver, because she had a marked propensity for chewing on everything.

She turned a one-piece garden hose into a 52-piece garden hose.

She ate a sofa (well, parts of it, anyway).

And she ate my Dornier WWII German fighter-bomber, which I'd spent long hours assembling.

She was the most adorable creature, but thoroughly destructive.

This was long before I started collecting minis, and I know I'd have a conniption fit if one of my painted minis got eaten. I'm going to have to keep Cat-thulhu upstairs during the game tonight, I think.

;)

My cat used to do something similar, but she only leaped up to eye level with her forelegs spread out wide. Then she would twist in mid-air and hit the ground running. Scared the crap out of me every time, and she would actually lie in wait for me around corners. My family thought it was hilarious.

My cat at 22~23 lbs has not jumped in a few years. DDMs are safe. :-)
