If anyone doubts what I just said up there, go here and watch!

A very crude start, but any start is better than sitting in the gate.

RabidFox*, here they come!

See ya!

They may be coming but they have a long way to go yet.
That was a slightly painful 5:35; the weaponry was, let me say, rather unimpressive.
I will defeinitely agree that it is a crude start, but better than nothing.

For $300,000US that was not much though; I would much rather invest those funds into Dwarven Forge.

I dunno; $300K makes for one very NICE gaming club, wouldn't you agree?
Say, an entire set of tables, pre-set with Sci-Fi, another set of caverns, same for MM, another with DoE, some BattleScape-grade outdoors terrain (one gridded, one not), and on, and on, and on?
WITH a full-service snack bar, up to and including meals and drinks (carding, of course)?
AND a fully-stocked FLGS/FLHS, with multiple spray booths and assembly areas?
Registration fee of $50, $10/year membership, $250 lifetime membership?

Eventually, set up a franchise system, with OVERSEAS locations that include DISTRIBUTOR-ships for WotC, DF, and others?
LARPS?

Hey, why not dream BIG?

See ya!

Maybe so.
How much did IO and hs friends pay for the house?

Say, an entire set of tables, pre-set with Sci-Fi, another set of caverns, same for MM, another with DoE, some BattleScape-grade outdoors terrain (one gridded, one not), and on, and on, and on?
Sounds fairly good, but a little overboard.
I do not use DoE so I would have to find something else for that table.
Maybe a purpose-built jungle river valley table like the one GW threw out back in '97.
I got some pics before it was tossed.
If I had had the means then to take it home, I could have after the Hobby Support folks laid it carefully in the bin.
That was SOP for them to do it that way with anything good and/or salvageable.
That way anyone after work could get the usuable stuff out of the bin before the garbage folks arrived the next morning.
I still do not know if someone grabbed it or it joined the land fill.

WITH a full-service snack bar, up to and including meals and drinks (carding, of course)?
No how, no way on the non-soft drinks.
Drunk gamers SUCK!
I have had too many experience with beer-drunk gamers.
Four or five hours into the engagement you can have pretty sauced opposing commanders and too many drunks are mean drunks!

The snacks would not be too bad.
Have a soda fountain and a few other things would be nice, but there has to be a separate eating area than THE TABLE.
Eat within view, but not on THE TABLE.

You forgot the loo Jim.
I hate gaming with folks that do not really know you, so they are not sure they can trust you, who do the "wiggle shuffle" in their chair or the got-to-go bee-bop when standing.
Goodness, let's all just go the the loo together then.
Always makes me wonder if they are natural cheaters themselves.

AND a fully-stocked FLGS/FLHS, with multiple spray booths and assembly areas?
Registration fee of $50, $10/year membership, $250 lifetime membership?

I have known successful clubs that have dues.
If people have to pay to play, they generally always show up so that they can get their money's worth.
Spouses support that last idea so at least for a year, they are not an obstacle to folks playing games.

Eventually, set up a franchise system, with OVERSEAS locations that include DISTRIBUTOR-ships for WotC, DF, and others?
LARPS?

BIG?!?
No debate there at all.
Maybe a little too big for a good decade or two at the very least Jim.
