TOPIC: Read German anyone?

I used a German to English converter (free on-line service). I am 99% certain I understand the English meaning of the German phrases in question, but I'd sure appreciate verification by someone who reads German and English.

At the www.fanen.com web site, I am looking at the DF products.
According to the G to E translation site:
z.Zt. vergriffen = presently assaulted
endgültig vergriffen = finally assaulted

Since "presently assaulted" and "finally assaulted" don't really relate to anything that I'd expect to see in the stock/buy column on a web site, my guess is that these both mean something similar to "out of stock" or "out of stock and will not be getting any additional stock."

Could someone please confirm this? Thanks!

Well, "vergriffen" means out of print, but it sounds like it also means out of stock. Because "endgültig" can mean finally, but it can also mean, like, "ultimately" or "for the last time," I think. So that works more with out of stock than out of print.

Hello,

"vergriffen" means out of stock
"endgültig vergriffen" means out of stock, and no chance that they get restocked on this one

Hope that helps.

Green Knight,

Your sig line is good, but a friend of mine modifies it in this manner:

DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR
NOTHING BEFORE TEA

which, of course, cracks up the rest of the gaming group, especially since she is a Rogue of some repute in our little Universe!
Somehow, the image of a totally-honorable Rogue who does NOTHING before having a cuppa in the AM is good for AT LEAST one giggle per game!

And people say we're crazy; no wonder I tend to agree with them.

See ya!

Jim

PS: This is not in any way, shape, or form intended to denigrate your sig line, sir; a Knight with honor is less than useless, so as a Green Knight, you are fully entitled to bear than motto proudly.
