I recently came across Confrontation Miniatures' "Morbid Puppets" 1, 2, and 3. These are undead actually hauling themselves out of the ground to do battle.

Does anyone know of any other miniatures that feature the dead in the process of rising from their resting places?

Confrontation minis may or may not be available at your FLGS. They're made in France (which gives me some trepidation), but they are absolutely gorgeous. The sculpts are superb, though the females tend to be on the anorexic side.

If you can't buy them locally, I'd suggest Neil at the WarStore. He's been an absolutely great e-tailer, and he carries the full line of Confrontation. I've dealt with him before on numerous occasions, and his customer service is second to none. www.thewarstore.com

Reaper made one figure of a skeleton rising up from a grave. It's in their Dark Heaven line, but I can't recall the exact figure number. They do have a fantasy figure finder on their website.

www.doordice.com/Games/ProductListings.cfm?Game_UID=D4GIWCEA&Category=Blisters&Search_StartRow=241 is the web page where I saw them. (I was actually looking for Confrontation's architectural bits.) According to the descriptions, each blister pack has four DIFFERENT unassembled, unpainted undead.

The only hobby shop near me is Game Parlor at 13936 Metrotech Drive, Chantilly, VA 20151. Before you haul all the way out there, call them at (703) 803-2114. There is also a location at 14400 Smoketown Road, Woodbridge, VA 22192; (703) 551-4200. They also carry our favorite gaming accessories by Dwarven Forge! :)

IMPORTANT NOTE

ONE of four skeletons in each blister pack is rising from the ground (or, in MP3, kneeling). The pack I found at the gaming store was $13.00. That's $3.25 per skeleton from the optimist side, and $39.00 for three specialty skeletons from the pessimist side.

Hey JK - I didn't realize you are in Baltimore. I just arrived this morning from So Cal for a business class. My first time to your town... classes don't start until 1:00 pm tomorrow - got any suggestions for things to see before then?

They're made by Rackham miniatures--right? I have a bunch of their stuff for my fantasy RPG. Check out "Neran the Scary. Wicked stuff. He's like an undead pumpkin scarecrow on stilts--wearing a trenchcoat with little voodoo/ragdolls pinned all over the inside and about...

I also picked up Misan the Clairvoyant. Nice wizard figure. Now if I could just find somebody with a high level of skill to paint him up... ;-}~

Fu-Man Chu -

Like History? Go see the USF Constellation, right at the Pratt & Light Street intersection, in the Inner Harbor. Or, head East on Pratt St. about 5 blocks to the National Aquarium in Baltimore, and check out the USS Torsk and the Lightship Chesapeake. And I think, but I'm not sure, the USCGC Taney is also there - the only survivor of Pearl Harbor that's still afloat.
And that's just the shipping stuff.
Send me an e-mail tomorrow AM and I'll see what else I can tell you, depending on where you're at in town.

Welcome to the East Coast Funny Farm!
