Huzzah! Job + low rent = lots of free money...

So, Im picking up a DOE (if all does as planned), and a Cavernous Passage Set (for sure). and maybe a Fantasy Starter Set (is this recommended?).

And plan on getting a crap load more over time ;) Other things must be bought aswell ;) Well, I hope you guys are as awesome as I remember :)

MrThou,

Welcome Back... I Have Mixed Feelings about the Fantasy Starter, Only Because of the Expense... BUT it Does Have a Few Kewl Bits Like the Diagonal Floor Oieces and the new Doors... So it is Not to Be Completely Ignored... However, if You are Looking to Maximize the Value of Your Entry into the World of DF You Might Wait until the Fantasy Room and Passage or Similar Sets are Restocked... If You Can Afford it (With all of Your New Ca$h reserves), You Might Consider Two of the DoE and Two of the Caverns... Just a Thought...

Hmm, a second DOE... I likes that idea. As Im thinking my next 'big' purchase would be the Cavern Set, if I can find one... Followed by the more basic Rooms and passages and etc...

All the cool stuff is out of stock :( and IIRC the Narrow passages set is never comming back :( Dammit!

I wonder if enough of us say something, the Narrows can come back?!?

What I really want though is a SF MM Narrows!

Im rather unimpressed with the SF Stuff. I was really looking forwards to it, and it just doesnt appeal to me (other then for FRAG purposes...), maybe I need to see it to fully appreciate it?

To be honest, if you like the "clean" SF themes like Star Wars, Buck Rogers, Star Trek and this ilk, then you will not like SF Master Maze in person or in pic.
If you like more "real" environs SF themes like Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica, Earth 2, Stargate, and this ilk, you will enjoy SF Master Maze.
Even then, for some cases, SF Master Maze is only an acquired taste MrThou.

If you decide against SF Master Maze, I would then recommend Starport 36 by Ainsty.
The main problem with Ainsty product is the trans-Atlantic S&H with a minor problem of it being unpainted.

I think MrThou, if you weigh in all of the costs and benefits of the very few SF terrain systems out there like Master Maze, even with the fact you are in Canada, SF Master Maze comes out on top.
Now, we just need Stefan and Jeff to come out with some serious SF furnishing sets to make the genre more complete and usuable.

That was part of the idea MLV.
The other half would be narrow corridors done just like the standard ones.

I See the Sci-Fi as a Very Generic "Tech" Setting... It Has Elelments of 50's Pulp Sci-Fi, but they also have a Little "Steam-punk" in them... They are Not "Exactly" any particular Genre' but they certainly Grow on You, I Like them Even More Now than I Did When I First Saw the pics online the First time... Now I Love 'Em... BUT if I was Looking Specifically for a Star Trek, or Star Wars, or Even B-5 "Look" I Would Have to Stretch a Bit... Of Course THe Cool Thing about most Sci-fi is that Your Players will be Traveling From Place to Place anyway, so Most any Terrain "Could" work...
