Thor,

Well of Course you Gotta Say that...<Chuckle>... But I Guess I would be Curious to know if You Folks got like One of Each or what... And When You Say they do not Match DF do you Mean Color, or are you Talking about Size? Cause there were Some Neat Looking Corner Pieces and even Wall Sections... (Including a 4" Wall which is something I wish DF Had to be Honest)...

Hello Chad,

I see that you aren’t doing any more mystic modular dungeon blocks. Any news?

Interesting news, thanks for the post!

I have a few Mystic blocks -- that was one of the things that pushed me into getting HA, actually. I really loved 'em, but I figured I'd rather make my own than keep going back to that well.

Still, having used the molds myself for almost a year now, I can say there is definitely a place for the Mystic modular blocks. They do more than just slap blocks together. The paint jobs are fantastic, the addition of vines and mushrooms and algae to the walls is really well done. I have about five or six pieces, I intersperse them in the cavern layouts, and they REALLY bring the place to life. They work really well with the regular dungeon elements also. And they make a SPECTACULAR backdrop for lizardmen figures.

So even with my own molds, I might buy more Mystic elements if they keep up their high quality work. It's great to have the option of adding a few exotic touches to the DF design.

I'm really glad this thread got bumped, because after not working with my molds for at least 2 months I went down to the basement last night and built all the basic pieces shown on the mystic dungeons site (without mushrooms or roots), plus a few custom pieces of my own out of left over blocks (like a wall piece with a giant lever and a recessed 4x4 floor piece with a decorative tile pattern). I'm planning to buy some RTV silicone on the way home, so I can make molds out of the major pieces and cast them in greater quantities.

I really like the look of the fieldstone and regular floor tiles mixed together, plus all of the pieces are perfectly square and fit together very tightly. I can never get rid of all the gaps in my DF dungeons since most of the pieces aren't actually square [even the new sci-fi stuff).

I’m not planning to do any roots or mushrooms on my pieces at this time, but I do have lots of ideas for other pieces I want to build.
