I'd love to see what has been done in terms of making or modifying D.F. pieces.

I made a slime pool but it needs something. (Competent Modeler?)

Anybody do a lake or river piece????

Very Nice. Seems like a direct copy of you know who. This is DF Blasfamy, but what size are these? Will they hook up with DF? How about the color? Would the stair alter work with DF? 100mm (4x4 sq. pcs.)

They seem cheap enough. Are they fragile? Heavy? We are getting those need floor plates from DF. soon. I hope there is a pit.

Somebody needs to make a stand alone giant mushroom.

Fungi of the DarK!!! Set

Giant mushrooms (x4)
Shrieker (x2)
Mold Cluster (x4)
Gas Spore (x2)

Nobody would make this useful a set.......... Heavy sigh..........

What we need is a real fun-guy to make some for us! ;)

On a similar note:
I've been considering funding a line of products myself. Problem is, my sculpting ability is a trifle poor. See Stalagmite piccy below.

I though about the 'Hirst Arts into precast pieces' thing about a year back - but never got off my butt to do anything about it - Oh well. What I need is a pet sculpter who live about 2 blocks away who'll work for peanuts (If anyone knows Gibraltar, that's a REAL funny joke around here!!) ;)

They were made to fit with dwarvenforge products. They don't have bowtie slots but they are just as durable.

Here is an interview I did with the creator.

Yes, the alter is 4x4.

I like the stalagmite. Anything that works with DF is OK with me.

I was just looking at the ainsty stuff. They have a nice mine-entrance piece that was real cool. I would like to see a DF one, somthing with a slope down perhaps. Hard to describe with words but the "surface" (outdoors) would be raised (6"-8") and a tunnel would work it's way down to the tabletop level thus hooking into DF tunnels or cavern. A stone-brick Dungeon and a natural cavern entrance (exit) could be done. I wonder how usefull these would be...................

wishful thinking - I guess I could make something like this - someday!! :?

I've made a lot of stuff with Hirst Arts molds -- walls made of columns and arches, a sacrifical pit (ironically similar to what's on the way), a two-level chamber with a balcony, a large well with tentacles emerging, some crypts (built into the walls), and (my favorite) a fresco.

They look pretty nice, but matching the paint color exactly is very difficult.

I like mixing the HA and DF products, and I think it's a shame that the fans seem to be so divided. A lot of HA fans get really riled up about DF, it can get under my skin. Personally, I see the two products about as similar as an action figure and a model kit, so there's no reason to think the same people are going to like each, but it always gets reduced to money, which bugs me. Unless you have the time and space to make a whole room full of HA stuff, the cost is about the same.

L, I would love to see some of what you've made. Can You post pictures?

I seem to have no problem getting the paint job to match. (Grey Testers Primer with a black wash, then a lt. drybrush of flesh.) Maybe it is not really a good match and I just can't tell... :D

Here are some pics of homemade stuff that I made. As you can see, it's not a perfect match, but I think it looks neat:

All made with HA molds. I have more plans, but mainly I use HA for things utterly unlike DF -- entire buildings, etc.

Hey L, nice pictures! I purchased my first HA molds about a month ago and have built a few items off the gothic dungeons project list so far. The fountain, a few hallways and some corner pieces, oh and a decorative floor piece with leftovers. I haven't started trying to match them up with my Dwarven Forge stuff just yet (or the paint for that matter), but I'd like to start making specialty rooms that will match just as soon as I get the chance to start casting again.

What do you mount your HA stuff on to make it level with the DF pieces?
