Willypold,

Yes they do... Even the Fantasy Stuff I Just "Poo-pooed" could be useful for a Light Skirmish if one was not worried about the look of the set up, and if they are in the same price range as the other stuff they could be a very economical way to "Wall" a town or similar...

Yeah there is some Really funky and odd things in there, i looked at a bunch and could use many for a bunch of different games, but i don't think much is for sale here in the US, maybe in other places.

I first heard of this back arounf Thanksgiving, and was a bit leary of buying anything, till i heard a few other people talking about it in varions places.

It seems more war-game or skirmish, many of the places i saw people mentioning it were more Wargame places, and they like the look of the Terrain for that aspect. But in just setting up the tiny little thing i put together last night before i went to bed, i realley liked the look of it for possibly RPG. I made a little platform out of the platformere set put it down, and it was almost the perfirct height for a Docking platform for the ATST from Galoob that you have seen in some of Me and L's stuff.

As i was sitting there, working on puttng stuff togheter and a number of differnt things for it that i want to make came to mind. The platformer really is a decent name for it, i am going to make a TIE landing platform with levels for like the the ATST to dock (like in Return of the Jedi on Endor) but in a small scale... or other landing pads/platforms and run it with the Some of the DF stuff. I think it will be great for the Action Fleet line as Landing pads.

It can have enough uses, that he money spent on it was worth it

But I think L is right it does need a good paint job, i might leave some of it clean becuase it is a very similar color to the Gray of the ATST, but that is just becuase i am an SW Nut and it looks very Imp to me...

GhengisSka,

So you have the Platform set right? In the Pics on the linked site, the Platform set looks more "Rusty" then the Hex Set... Was this just that the Pic showed a Painted version? It all looks wonderfully "Necromunda" to me, and at $10.00 a set, that could be useful... (Though I do not really play Necromunda any more, I still use the Buildings)...

I Just Checked my favorite online ordering site, and found these things for $15.00 for the Large sets, and $9.00 for the Small... They also have Eight or Ten of the More interesting Vehicles in the $7.00 range... Http://CCGArmory.com

I got Both, Hex and Platformer, if you look at the Spruee pictures bellow in the products page for the Platformer you have to snap A LOT of those pieces in the Platformer togehter. the rectnagles go with the other Rectangles, etc... it took a heck of a long time to remove them and the flashing (is that the term?) left over from the Sprue and snap them together... i did about half Monday, the rest of the Platformer last night. And i wanted to try putting something together, before i started on the Hex.

The Hex looks like it will go faster.

But no they are not painted at all, the pictures of the individal pieces on the Platform are what they look like out of the box, and the ones in the Hex on sprue are how they come. the Platformer Sprue is a *$*#*@** as L said to work with... some of those pieces are REALLY well worked on. It is a grey plastic the Platformer one looks like it was painted for Display etc. I becuase i like the Imperial Grey (it matches pretty well the ATST i have) will not do much painting on it, i hate painting, might do an ink wash or such to bring out some of the details, but one of the reason i love the D&D and SW minis is No painting, oh and Dwarven Forge Sci-Fi... unless you want to... 8)

Thanks for the Info... I Took a Closer look at the Sprue Pics, and I Can See what you Mean about Flashing, Even the Tiny pieces are Connected in 3 to 4 places... Yikes... But Still, I THink I'll Grab a Few for Parts if Nothing Else... Those Ladders and Ramps look like they Could be a Nice addition to the DF Sci-Fi stuff...

And as much as I have enjoyed Painting in the Past, (And will likely get back into it one day), I really Like that the D&D and SW stuff is ready to go... I Only hope that WotC decides to do some Near Future Stuff too! (Or Even some Weird West)... Or If Not them, then Someone... BUT I am Ready for non-randomized Stuff! I Would love to be able to buy a Big Box of Pre Painted Orcs, Gnolls, Dragons, Cops, Stormtroopers, Speeder Bikes, Etc... I Hate Having So Many odd ball Minis, but No Matter how many Sets I buy, Never Finding that One or Two Rares I really Want... (And I am not so interested in bidding on Ebay)...

Anyway, thanks for the Info...

I have one thing to say about Russian and Polish model companies - they regularly produce some of the most wonderfully oddball stuff!

When I'm not making dungeons I add vehicles to my SpaceOrk Speedfreak horde - some 30 or so right now... Two Mekboy Speedstas began life as Polish armored cars from the 20's, and one battlewagon is a British light tank running backwards, with a mineroller added as a dreaded Ork Deathroller. While companies like Tamiya keep producing versions of all of the famous tanks and other vehicles, these East European companies are giving the world the strange, almost forgotten and unusual stuff you wouldn't believe anyone would have made for real! At the same time giving me tons of inspiration for fans of the incomparable SpaceOrks! :D

You Know a Few Years Back I Ordered a bunch of Stuff from GW and One of the Items was Gorka Morka... I Never Did actually Play the Game, but I use the Turning Key for other Games, and the Vehicles are Good Dark Future War Buggies... Ironicaly I Recieved a "Prize" at some Con very soon After that, which included a Set Of Gorka Morka and a Few Extra Buggies and Stuff... So I Have Several unopened Gorka Morka things in storage including the Second Full Game...<Chuckle>... But I Have to Say that I really Like the GW rhinos and Land Raiders for other Games, (I Really prefer Plastic to Metal, especially for vehicles)... I Also used to have a bunch of the old Snap-tite AT-AT kits... (Like Six of them but they are now long Gone)... they were roughly 1/48 scale I think... Would have been passable for the Modern SW minis... And I regularly... Well not so much now I guess, So let me say that I have in the Past, purchsed Old Tank, Air Plane and Helicopter Kits, then use the Pieces for Nernies, to Create all new vehicles... (I am Fairly sure that this type of Modeling, is how GW initially got there Model Ideas, The Land Raiders are So WWI)...

[sighing nostalgically] GorkaMorka - why did they cancel you!

That's the game that really got me going building things for W40K! Small, neat (well, quite rusty, in fact) and quick to play, it was the perfect game for my style of play, together with such classics as SpaceHulk. As I'm fulfilling my needs for basic dungeon rooms right now I've started to look at the SF sets for possible use with the SpaceHulk rules. Anyone who has tried that yet?

There has been Discussion about doing so, (Using Sci-Fi sets for Space-Hulk, Space Crusade, Space Patrol, Legions of Steel, etc)... And I Think it is a Great Idea, Especially if you were doing a Demo Game at a Con or some Such... Only Possible Issue is Size I Guess... (GW is soo Massive!, thought the Old Global Games Minis for Legions of Steel, Look Fine)... That would be the time of Game that could really benefit from a extra Wide Coridor Set...
