The old cutting boards that were on either side of her old stove were no longer needed. I noticed their height was perfect for DF. I had my stepfather cut me 4 pieces - each piece 12" square.

And, when you put DF up against them, they provide a great base for a 2nd floor!

With 4 of these I have a few options, even the ability to make a small 3rd floor if needed.

So, don't throw out your cutting boards when remodeling your kitchen!

Wow, now that is too perfect. Great save! I think all of my cutting boards are too thin, though. :[

I also use levels with transparent tiny boxes of 4.5 cm.
It suits perfectly.

Hi erc1971,

Could you specify the precise thickness of your cutting boards?
My guess would be that Styorofoam boards would be perfect for this use:ease of cutting, light weight...

I used said blocks in my Village of Wargrave and Beyond build that was made available for viewing here on the forums. They worked perfectly, but the plain wood grain really stood out IMO. So my solution was to get some grass green spraypaint, a ruler, and a sharpy. This is the result...

Now they won't break up the color scheme when used in outdoor builds, and if I am using them as mere stepping stone for DF builds, well their color won't matter ;)
