I really really love your product but have 2 concerns.

1. The doors seem to be spread across two 1" squares. Is this correct? How does this affect map layouts. I intend on using it to run pathfinder adventure paths and all of their maps have doors 1 square wide, not across 2 squares. Has anyone had experience with this and how much does it affect layout?

2. The walls obviously take up some room. Again quite a few of the predesigned maps have rooms and passages jutting right up against each other and their maps don't allow for a thick half inch wall between them. Has anyone noticed this to be a problem?

These are the only 2 concerns holding me back from purchasing about a grand worth of DF to get me started.

One other quick question....Estimated shipping time to Australia? And what type of shipping is used cause no offense but it seems quite expensive to ship to Australia. I'm spending nearly half again what I spend on DF just on shipping.

1. There are 1" wide doors in the Advanced Builder Set. Someday I hope they will put out a doors set that might include all of the various doors they have made over the years and across the various product lines.

2. Not particularly, and Advanced Builder Set 2 helps with some of the adjacent room issues. But a little careful planning will allow you to put rooms right next to each other. Just remember that you don't have to back two walls against each other.

3. No idea.

The Advanced Builder set has four 5ft wide (1 square) doors while the Advanced Builder set 2 has six 5ft wide doors.

Just as JA said, a wall placed in one room (or a hallway wall) serves as the wall for the room that adjoins it. There is a great mapping program that someone (sorry - I can never off the top of my head remember who!) developed that lets you map out dungeons etc using the exact dimensions of the Dwarven Forge pieces. I almost always use the program first before I try and lay-out a pre-made dungeon. Sometimes I have to be a bit flexible and tweak the map here or there to make it work, but mostly you can achieve pretty faithful reproductions of pre-made dungeons, Inns, Caverns etc.

Edit: CRaster Image & pfworks are the fine fellows keeping this excellent program up-to-date with all sets. Here is the thread:
