Something to note...

The *tiles* can be extracted on a mac. They are scattered throughout the extracted mess as "png" files. For instance, the bulk can be found in "MasterMaze/Drawings"

the .exe can, of course, only be run under Windows. If you find a program on the mac, such as Dundjinni, that can use png "tiles" you can use them there.

What does all this mean. I'm familiar with computers... but "png" files, .exe, "png" tiles. This is all "greek' to me. ;)

The png files are the tiles that end in ".png". The .exe is the executable itself. Can you launch the tilesystem program?

I just downloaded 3.04. There are master maze photo sets, but they seem to be empty. Have I done something wrong?

That's the issue I had as well when downloaded to my WIN 7 laptop. Haven't tried it again since pfworks posting but will have to try again.

The version I downloaded and used successfully on my WIN XP computer came from here:
www.muinimula.de/Muini/de/2nd/tools/mastermaze/Tilesystem-3_x.html

It has photos of the pieces rather than drawings. I prefer the photos.

I tried downloading 3.04 from here:

www.colinburns.com/games/mastermaze/index.html

And it didn't work on my WIN 7 laptop. As lepercolony mentioned, the tile set pictures are blank.

EDIT: Just tried again and still got blank tile pics.

I have no idea why you get blank tiles. It works fine on XP, win7 32-bit and win7 64-bit for me.

Have you tried to open any of the png files directly?

You are extracting it, (right click -> extract all) and not merely double-clicking and trying to open, right?

Correct, I am extracting. Will have to keep trying because it's a great tool.

I have Win 7 64 bit, and the 3.04 download from the website. When I open the zipped file, there is a MasterMaze folder that has a drawings subfolder, but no photos folder. That is why I think it's blank. When I drag the "empty" pieces from the photos set onto the main screen, then change the set to drawings, the proper drawings appear in the proper places. But when I try to swap sets back to photos, nothing is displayed again.

Are you downloading the first link, or the second "Kubla" link. The 2nd link does not have photos. This is the link that we (my friends and I) use for putting together con maps, and we don't use the photos, as it is easier for us to set up maps with printouts done from the drawings.

Nope, first link. Sadly. It would have been really sweet if the solution proved to be that easy!
