TOPIC: TileSystem Data Updated
#42131
Re:TileSystem Data Updated 3 Years ago
I downloaded the file from www.colinburns.com/games/mastermaze/. I have a couple questions.
First is this file compatible with a Mac? Second, I downloaded file and am now looking at the folder. There are numerous files like Boxee, Mastermaze, Other, MysticBlocks, etc. Where do I start in order to lay out a dungeon? I'm sorry to be such a Noob but this is my first order of DF and my first build! I heard about programs earlier that help you build a dungeon on a program first ( I may of read about your program a couple weeks ago here on the Forums), and am very appreciative of you creating this program. I confident it will save me a lot of errors in building sets. I just need some help on how to get started with the program! :)

When I look inside the TileSystem RAR file, I see two folders, one labeled Tilesystem 204 and one labeled Mac OSX (my guess is, that's the one to use with a Mac :)

I extract the folder I need, then double click on Tilesystem.exe file. This starts the program (no installation necessary). Then go to *File* --> *Change Tile Set* and it will open a list of the available tile sets. Pick the one you want and viola - there are you pictures (or drawings) to use in the mapping program.

Enjoy!

Ok. I think we may be talking about two different downloaded files? I downloaded the file from this address www.colinburns.com/games/mastermaze/. I clicked on Tile System 3.04 Mapping Program and All Data... hyperlink. This link downloaded a program called Tile System 304. There isn't an icon inside this folder or a file named Tilesystem RAR file or Mac OSX? I know I've done something wrong! Am I on an old website maybe with an outdated program download link? Thank you for your help Harneloot!

www.colinburns.com/games/mastermaze/

That link takes me to a page with a link at the bottom to download the compressed program (in which is everything I described)

(Looks like its a Zip file not an RAR as i first thought - icons are the same on my computer)

Harneloot.
I guess I have to give up. This is the same link I've been describing and the icons are the same as I've described before. No MacOSX...

www.colinburns.com/games/mastermaze/TileSystem304-pgp-1-7.zip

There is the zip file.

Inside that Zipped file are two folders. One is titled Tilesystem304 and the other is:

_MACOSX

Inside that folder is the program and tile sets etc. Just unzip it to some location, and then double-click (or whatever you do on a mac) on Tilesystem.exe to run the program.

Harneloot,
I have a partitioned Mac. I went on my Windows side and downloaded the file and could see the MACOSX file. I took only that file and went back to my Mac side and took that single file off my flash drive. When I click on it the file changed names to TileSystem304 and this is what I read;

Last login: Wed Aug 17 07:25:18 on ttys000
/Users/erickdillard/Desktop/__MACOSX/TileSystem304 ; exit;
localhost:~ erickdillard$ /Users/erickdillard/Desktop/__MACOSX/TileSystem304 ; exit;
logout

[Process completed]

I could get the file to do nothing else. Here is what I propose if your interested. Can I send you my email address? And then I will send you my phone number?

Something to note...

The *tiles* can be extracted on a mac. They are scattered throughout the extracted mess as "png" files. For instance, the bulk can be found in "MasterMaze/Drawings"

the .exe can, of course, only be run under Windows. If you find a program on the mac, such as Dundjinni, that can use png "tiles" you can use them there.

Does the program work on WIN 7? I installed on my old computer with Win XP and the program works fine. I tried to get it to work on my new laptop with WIN 7 and haven't been able to get it to recognize the tiles. Any tips?

I tried it on 64-bit Win7. Works fine. I had to "Change Tileset" when it first came up, as it had the GF9 tileset loaded, but other than that, once I loaded one of the other tilesets, it seems to work fine for me.
