Okay, they have trays to hold multiple miniatures so you can field armies, so is it possible to make trays to hold multiple DF pieces to create a temporary pre-fab room?

This might satisfy the demand for "dedicated" rooms, without changing the way DF makes modular pieces. We would be able to assemble a room on a metal or plastic tray with a 1/8" rim, then move and store it as a unit.

Any potential?

Two quick sugestions:

1-LEGO. Put a lego baseplate under the room, pudt LEGO beams around the edge, and move it. Slide it onto your playing surface and then slide the base plate back under it when you leave/pudt the unit on the shelf.

2-Games Workshop REgiment Bases. You can buy cheap sets of plastic regimental basing material (about $10 or a pack of two each thick plastic sheets and edging). Cut the pre-grooved shet into the size of your room. Glue the plastic edging onto 3 sides (to hold the room in) and then slide off as for the LEGO base.

Cheers.
