Filling my chasm piece with water? 4 Years, 11 Months ago
I just recieved my cavernous passage set and orderd 2 T-intersection pieces extra. So i've got 3 cavernous passage T-intersection pieces with a chasm.

I was thinking that i would be great to fill one of these pieces with water and maybe put some treasure at the bottom with plants. Offcourse the piece isn't painted, so i don't know if the water will look good or not.

So i was wondering if anybody has done this and maybe has some pictures and what you think about doing this:
- Should i fill it up?
- Should i paint it first?
- Any tips about what i should use to fill it up?

(ps the link to the cavern piece i'm talking about www.dwarvenforge.com/store/product.php?productid=16306&cat=262&page=1)

I have done this. I used Woodland Scenics water stuff.

As to a picture I do not think I have one. I sold the actual piece awhile back.

I didn't paint it and if (when) I do it again I will paint a "slim green" lightly on the area that is going to get the "water" and perhaps just above it. After all this water more than likely is or has been sitting there for some time.

Not sure if I would use Woodland Scenic water again. It worked great and looked great but you have to heat it up first.

How much did you put in? I was thinking about just a little bit, a bit like the other cavernous passage pieces. I am a bid scared that the filling won't go right and the water won't be smooth, any tips before attempting?

Next time try the Realistic Water effects from Woodland Scenics as it does not require to be heated and is easy to work with as you just pour it into where you want it. Add paint to the mixture though and underneath wherever you are putting the water effect though.

I've done it, and posted pics. I used an envirotex product, tinted slightly with green. Effect was pretty awesome. I highly recommend it.

I'll browse through to see if the pics are available -- there was a hack awhile back and a lot of posts were lost, and I fear these may have been among them. A shame, because I don't have the pics anymore either. Still have the pieces, though -- but they're in storage now. :(

Just checked... pics gone. :( Here's the link, though, to the post:

I am really interested in seeing a picture of this mod if you can repost one. What treasure did you put
at the bottom ? Did you attach the treasure or just wait for the water to dry? Are
there any problems with drip marks or surface texture on the water or does it dry
siow enough that it all evens out?

Sorry for the twenty questions but I think this is a cool idea that seems pretty cheap and easy.
I like cheap and easy !
