Buy those plastic cupboards with the pullout translucent drawers they work fine for me, you just need to have one of those elastic ropes to make sure the drawers dont spill out and make them stand up straight.

IMO the original boxes are impractical unless you have a fairly small collection. The styrofoam makes too much "dead space", to where the bulk quickly becomes unmanageable.

The banker boxes Thor mentioned are good. You can also buy the platic equivalent (only waterproof) at Office Depot for about $6 each. The trick is that you really need to maximize the number of models per cubic meter/foot/whatever, unless you want to make 20 trips to your car. I can pretty much fit everything I have listed below in 2-3 boxes. I can carry two, so if I'm careful it's just one trip.

Well, let's see... my original boxes didn't come with styrofoam trays (each piece was individually wrapped. Unrealistic to do that every time)

So, I have two of the LARGE storage boxes (plastic) from Target.
(kinda similar to "Tom", although somewhat larger)

I cut some 1/4" foamcore and glued straps to the edges. This lets me lift out a layer at a time (I have 4-5 layers per box). Each layer keeps the pieces from clunking on each other and since I have enough to fill each layer full, the pieces don't shift all that much.

Ha, I did this exact thing for my boxes of Anisty pieces, and plan to do the same for the DF stuff...works great!

I have 5 big boxes now (2 for caverns & 3 for Dungeons). I try and get MrMorden to carry them. :D

Other wise they tend to stay in my trunk. The DF stuff is pretty tough.

Soon, I will probably only carry to a game what I actually need rather then the entire collection.

Could you post a photo of that set up? Sounds good. I got 10 boxes and have a overhead picture in each to let me know where everything goes. I numbered the boxes and each piece in the box so they won't get mixed up. It's getting pretty crowded though. I am thinking about taking them out of the box so they won't take up as much room and maybe get one of those small colapsable dollies....

Yeah, finaly gave up. I got one of the plastic drawer sets and am labeling the draws "passages, walls misc and corners. I don't know if they will all fit in the 6 drawer one but maybe one of the larger ones. I'll just need to be carfull not to jostle it around too much. Keep the boxes deff. " DF stuff holds its value if in great shape...... 8)

I need to find something. The styrofoam is starting to break down. To say nothing about the cardboard boxes.

The Problem is that there are not enough Large Sized Foam-lined Types of Containers out there, not Affordable anyway... I Mean if I Used Large Figure Boxes or Something it would take a Huge amount of Storage Space, pretty much like Now...
