Found this out by more or less by accident when I placed one of my Reaper stone golems in a Dwarven Forge hallway. It's not a perfect match, but it looks reasonably close.

1) Prime white (I prime everything white).

2) Paint black while slightly thinning down with black ink. I use Citadel Chaos Black with Citadel Black Ink. Actually, this is standard for me as well since it's how I paint my blacks.

3) Drybrush heavily with a deep blue-grey. I use Citadel Shadow Grey; it's important that the grey at this stage has blue in it as this will lend us the grey-green look later on.

4) Drybrush with a medium tan-brown. Again, this is a Citadel colour: Snakebite Leather. Two tricks here: By alternating between greys and browns, you achieve a more realistic stone shade. The other thing I do that I do not clean the brush between drybrush layers -- this blends the colours together better, and the yellow in Snakebite Leather blends with the blue in Shadow Grey to give us that grey-green look.

5) Drybrush lightly with a light grey. My choice is Citadel Elf Grey.

Obviously, you can replace with suitable colours from Reaper, Vallejo, FreakFlex, etc as long as you remember the basic requirement of alternating grey and browns over black.

E-Arkham,

Very Pretty... And It Does look like you have come up with a nice match to the Color Scheme... I Applaud your efforts in Keeping the Individual Stones Looking... Well... Individual... You Say that that Floor Tile Looking Thing is a Stone Golem Fig?

Oh, no. That's actually just a pewter base I made for another figure... it was merely handy and nearby, while the stone golem was in a figure case. Exact same painting technique, however.

Nope. When I say "I made it" I really mean "I made it." <g> Sculpted from wood and green stuff, then made a mold, then cast in pewter.
