Cleavthorn,

I'd love to hear (read) your impressions of this set as well. It does look nice but a "word-of-mouth" review is always helpful.

Thanks -

Hey everyone,

I have confirmation the temple set will ship Monday.

I also will have my mushroom molds this week as well!

I'd gladly pay $75 a set, if only they could be shipped outside of US. Although being able to order two sets (at once) would be a preferred option.

Hopefully they'll consider offering them internationally, sooner rather than later.

Okay, okay!

I recieved the set on Friday (and my mushroom molds too!)

I made some basic configurations and took some pics with minis, but they were lost (er, I accidently erased the latter).

So, heres what I can say:

MATERIAL
It is cast of a resin that most would say had a plastic consistancy and feel, and is slightly lighter than DF pieces. Do not let this deter you. It is a durible resin that I have seen used by Discount Hobby's Grendle pieces as well.

CASTING
Well cast. Little to no holes and fully formed pieces. I had only one small problem with some flash on a single corner piece and trimmed accordingly. I am not afraid to trim and repaint, however. The temple pieces match together with each other well enough for my tastes, with what I would call only minor gaps.

COMPATIBILITY
95% compatible with DF pieces. I say 95% because of 1 thing I noticed: The backs of the temple walls are uneven and do not fit flush with other pieces. You could always build your temple ABOVE other DF floor pieces or trim them down.

ARTISTRY
Very nice detail! I want 2 more sets, though! The artistry is why I started talking to MakerofThings in the first place. I'm not sure if he wants me using his real name or not, so I am erring on the side of caution.

PRICE
Yes, its some money to fork out. But the sculpting and casting process is long and time consuming, as any one that has tried it can tell you. This is one guy doing everything; sculpting, casting and painting for you. If you put it into perspective, and take out the sculping time, it probably takes him around 8 hours I'd guess to make a complete 10 piece set. At $75.00, thats only $9.38 per hour. You tell me if you would do it for that. Its custom work, too!

Sorry!

Encouraging news - thank you!

It does sound nice, useful and well made, which is good to hear. I still think its a tad pricey, though I understand that a lot of work must go into making it. It seems like 2 sets, maybe 3, would be the optimal number, and thats the price of a Cavernous Lake Expansion + Tavern Accessories sets, maybe more. I just can't bring myself to get the temple stuff from e-bay with the cool new DF stuff I haven't pre-ordered yet.

Oh, I must have missed the feedback update !!!

Thank you for your run-down and impressions. It would make a great add-on to the DF sets. A more formal area without being to evil (ie DOE)

Thank you !!
