In our basic fantasy set, the walls for the edges of some pieces are on the edge square, rather than being off it - this prevents the figures from being able to be placed up against the edge.

Was this intentional?

I wondered if this wasn't just clearence so models were considered 'against the wall' when in the square next to it, and that half-quare is just clearence for model parts? This would be more obvious if the lines that seperate the squares didn't run under the wall.

This is done so that the walls have the same "foot print" as a floor piece which makes them more versitile. You can swap them for a floor piece or vice vs.

There may be other reasons but this is what I heard.

The 1" Grid Idea is Helpful overall, but I Still use a Ruler for Movement and Range Anyway so the "partial" Squares are just Cosmetic to me...

When using a ruler do you just mesure up to a point... then go around a corner with the remainder of your movment.?? The group I play in keeps on saying it would be too much troble to use a line of ruler. Ohhhhhh welll.. Whitewind,
I THink it goes Something like this...

Hapless Player 1:
"Hey is That ALL the Treasure we Find?"

Hapless Player 2:
"You Know in Game Master Warbucks Games He Always Gave us More Stuff."

Lord Void:
"Uh Guys You Killed The Musicians."

Hapless Player 2:
"Like this One Time we Had to Fight a Dinosaur and I Got Baba Yagas' Hut out of This Pile of Treasure."

Hapless Player 1:
"They WERE Kobalds Right...? I Mean Kobalds are Monsters so We Have to Kill them Right... I Mean that's why I Play a Paladin..."

Lord Void:
"They were a Kobald Band... Litteraly... Playing Music... In the Tavern, and what was 'Sir Shiney Armour' Doing in the "Baudy Wench" anyway."

Hapless Player 1:
"Well there ought to have been more than a Few Scattered Gold Pieces. I Mean those Crazy Bar Folk must have had some Money, and we Killed at Least Five of Them. Why Did they Attack us anyway?"

Hapless Player 2:
"I Was Really Hoping for a Deck of Many Things."

Lord Void:
"Well You Guys Did Hack the Entertainment to Pieces and Wound the Bar Keeps Daughter."

Hapless Player 2:
"That's not Fair She Got in the Way."

Lord Void: <Rummaging through THe Box of Old Dice and Dice Bags he always keeps Handy>
"You Guys Hear Some Distant Thunder."

Hapless Player 1:
"Well those Silly Twits had it Comeing they Should have known Better than to Attack a Paladin."

Lord Void:
"The Paladin Should Have Known Better than to "Dismember" The Band, and When did he Get a Vorple Sword Anyway?"

Hapless Player 2: <Eyeing Dice Bag after Dice Bag begining to Pile up on the Table>
"Did He Say Thunder?"

Yeah, that was me. I only put in a low bid on it though. What I really wanted this week is a deluxe room set or a cheap Ogres Den. We should really getogether on bidding rather than making someone else money.
