Does anybody really find those bowtie connectors useful? We've been using both the passageways and caverns fantasy sets for our D&D gaming group and we've never found those bowtie connectors to be worth the time. Maybe it is because we are setting up a passage, using it for an encounter, then tearing it down so often, but they just don't seem to add much.

Maybe if they held the pieces rigid, but they float in there and just really server to make it more difficult to take apart later.

I wondered what others found - maybe we're missing something!

Thanks

If I'm in a hurry and just setting up a small thing, I tend not to use them. However one group I play with is a bunch of ham-fisted clods and things tend to get kicked around a bit, and with them the bowties are a lifesaver!

Depends if you are going to leave it set up for awhile. Also they make things fit better that don't always look like they are going to fit. I use them sometimes and wouldn't want do not have them.

At first I didn't like them but I pretty much use them all of the time. I think they dress things up a bit and they prevent rushing shirtsleave catastrophies.

We never use 'em...just too much effort for the return they give. I wish the connector slots were on the underside, so they didn't mar up the beautiful floors!

There's also an issue with some of the slightly oversized pieces, like the large floors and long walls, and bowties may have to be forced in to those locations.

I don't use bowties, though - we just set up everything on our dry-erase tiles, and for the most part we've survived without tile-scattering events.

Some of bowties are narrower on one end than the other, just flip it around or try another. I have never had to force one in. If I can't get it, my wife can.

I am Glad the Sci-Fi Sets are Foregoing the Bowties, I THink that they are more Distracting than Usefull... But THe Set-ups do look more "Finished" with them in place...

I love the bowties, since most of my building is on felt it holds them well. Without them my layout would be un - orderly. When building it is really usefull when you are constantly changing the setup.
