There were some excellent MM conversions posted that displayed the possibilites of using existing MM pieces by covering them with a wooden floor.

Well, recently I visited one of the local stores that carry this type of stuff and located some parquet floor covering for miniature/model houses.

That being said, I found some but could tell the scale was off - (too big) so I left it for the time being, hoping to find something closer in scale.

I just realised that since I only have to cover the floor sections of the 2x2 corner and 2x2 wall pieces I can offset the cuts so the intersections are in the exact same location as the other MBS floor pieces.
In fact, if I'm fortunate I might be able to match up/rotate the smaller sections against the walls to cut the waste to a minimum.

I hope I'm expaining this clearly enough. Anyway I'm back up to the store tomorrow.

Well it's better than I had hoped for.

For whatever reason, when I returned I found that the flooring is actually in perfect (1 inch) scale already.

The only thing I need to do now is to apply a bit of stain to match the MBS colour scheme better.

In case anyone is interested, it is called...

Is this what you are talking about? This would be really fun to try.

Yes, those are the ones!

When I get good stain results I will post them.

As for pictures I hope to be able to get some taken over Christmas (...find relative with digicam).

If I do, I'll get some pics with these modified pieces as well.

BTW, thanks IO for the idea of covering the MM pieces with wood -as always, it was truly inspired.

Steve.

This sounds really interesting. Did you ever find a good stain? Any pics?

Istyer,

Admittedly, I have deferred using the flooring until I decide exactly how to effectively modify and combine my sizable MBA and Armorcast collections with the MB Sets that I now have.

I want these to blend together as well as possible, and the flooring is a major consideration.

As a result, no samples or related pics.

Sorry.

BTW,

Having (and seeing) the actual flooring, I have no doubts these would look great -if modified.

Steve.
