HQF;

I stand corrected. You and I may or may not agree on many things, but my comment regarding YOU personally was 180 degress OFF-BASE. I retract it.

On other matters, hey, you play, I play, and either way, we WILL get through the games, one way or another.
It's too bad about HQ and their minis being oversize for DF narrow passages. Those, and the cavernous passages, CAN be some of the most fun to drag a party through!
I must admit to being a somewhat anti-GW type person (I've had some less-than-enjoyable experiences with the company), so I've never even looked at WH Quest. However, I still have some Space Marines and Dark Eldar, and I've never had a problem with them even in the narrows - although strictly speaking, they're not 25 or 28 mm figures; they're much closer to 1/48 scale which is (I THINK) more like 35mm. If you use the narrows as more of a 'crack in the walls' than as a tight passage, then they will work there as well; kinda like a 'we'll have to edge through here, men.', instead of 'CHARGE!'

But the regular passages seem to work fine for 2-abreast walking even for the Space Marines. I personally wouldn't expect to trundle a SM Dreadnought down a passage, any more than I would expect to walk a BattleTech Urbanmech down a passage. Neither is truly built for indoor work.

Just my own opinion, there; your thoughts?

Hi jim !

Glad to count you into the anti GW squad.
Yes I know it's bad for HQ minis but I also tried to find a way to fix this problem.
It's nice when your character cannot run because a ogre is in front of you blocking the way so I had to revisit my rules to play with DF and the GW figurines.
(I really hate this company and probably for the same reasons.)

I've never used DF for SPACE CRUSADE & SPACE HULK adventures we have here.
I saw one time a real space hulk 3D board and modular but it was DF.I've lost the photo but it was something very surprising & amazing to me.
I saw the science fiction sets of DF and I'm interested in it but I want to complete my dunjeon collection before,something still hard to do.I just hope I'll succeed in it before 2009.
I think it's time to launch the big question into another topic : is space crusade & or space hulk compatible with DF ?...and I'm going to ask photos ^^.

Richard;

Believe it or not, I got into DF trying to run 40K. But, one of the guys I was gamingwith didn't like running 40K with DF because he couldn't do a 'Rush' in the Passages (all I had at the time, two R&P sets). I transitioned into D&D and never looked back (but Santini's Slammers are still sitting in their GW case, waiting for the Emperor to send a chapter call!). I was infamouse for customizing GW models for movement; MY Terminators could swivel left-right, raise either arm, and STILL looked good in a red-white-blue paint scheme!

Forget about EVER COMPLETING a collection; Jeff and Stefan will just come out with something ELSE every time you get close!
Stefan is just TOO CREATIVE to ever stop doing new stuff, and Jeff is too much of an intelligent businessman (as well as a wily gamer; we're ALL in trouble now!) to let Stefan's stuff go unproduced. As long as DF can recover costs on ANY of Stefan's stuff, it WILL see the light of day! It might be a limited run, but Jeff will get it out to us. That's one of the good things about DF for all of us gamers; it's also one of the bad things about DF for all you Euro-gamers, until Jeff an find a Euro distributor who can make a profit without ripping you OR DF penniless!
And there is the final rub; Douanes. VAT. Politics and protectionism. I'll not go any farther, I've already provoked too many fights her at the DF Forums with this belief, and I'll neve change anyone's minds about it.

Anyway, I hope you succeed in completing the collection, as well.

See ya!

Actually you can use DF even with the walls being an issue for outsized minis.....just use the floor tiles without walls for the area currently being used with the offending figures. DF got it's start back when (with the notible exception of GW) mini's companys were still pretty much adhering to a 25mm scale. Some companies these days have crept all the way up into the 35mm range.

God bless,
