Here is my solution - these are part Dwarven Forge and part Mageknight dungeon assessories.

Anybody else have any better ideas? Does anybody else have trouble with the standard DF doors? What would you do?

Those look great to me. What kinda "trouble" were you having with your doors?

Mine are well behiaved :D Bent or twisted? or do you mean you wanted them to match up better with the frames?

I don't have any trouble with the standard DF doors, but I just don't like to use them very often. I prefer the narrower doors from the advanced builders set and the narrow passages set, because they're more believable in terms of scale. If you're playing d20, at 5 feet per 1 inch square then that makes the standard DF doors nearly 10 feet wide! ;)

Oh I see. They are a tad large. I have both the small (1sq) and the lr. (2 sq.). I just use them as giant 10' doors. I've never really thought about it. Your way seems to fix the problem. I can't think of anything really better. :(

maybe sombody else on here has a plan :D

I'd really like to have a large door piece with double doors. A single wooden door of that size would be pretty hard to swing.

Maybe this will help. I use the squares as being about a yard/meter in size that way you can look at the doors as sort of 1 1/2 yards (4 feeti-sh)

I have seen large wooden doors like this (Mainly Fancy Restraunts for some reason :? ) Doors of this size might be useful in a dungeon if they are to be used by large bodys of large creatures.

I know - lame attempt..............The doors are too big. I also thought that the 1 sq. doors were a tad TOO SMALL.....

I have problems with the doors too. They're possibly the worst aspect of DF stuff. I wish the doors were just like the narrow passage ones (but bigger)

Here's an idea I saw some time back (Can't remember where). Please excuse the poor 'knock up' image.

The side 'flanges' rest on the tops of the corridor walls. This way you can place 'em anywhere. There is no base to them and they are also bottom heavy so they won't fall over.

You can make the brick surround as thick as you wish, thus making the doors smaller.

I nearly forgot the half dozen Hirst Arts door pieces I have as leftovers. They're exactly 1 inch wide and are very detailed. They're freestanding, not hinged but with a little work you could make an arch piece for the door to fit in that would also fit in any DF hallway.

I've got the gothic molds, so they wouldn't match up with the DF stuff exactly, but the fieldstone molds would.

You mean besides the fact that they are way too big and keep falling down? Really, when was the last time you saw a 10' wide door? I try and use the narrow doors whenever possible.

Speaking of doors, I would like to see a couple of different style door pieces. Also a couple of different double doors would be nice.

Stone Doors, Magic Doors, etc..

IIRC They (1-2?) will be in one of the up-cumming sets.

Double doors would be nice, :)
