Yes... Lot's O' Doors...

Barred Gate Kinda Door...

Double Door...

"Iron" Door...

Bricked Up Door-1 (Kinda Like The Awsome Bricked up Door in The Corridor From One of The W.E. Sets, But Free Standing So that it Could be Used Where Ever)...

Bricked Up Door-2 As above but with the Bricks Knocked/ Blown Out as though it had Been By Passed... (Everybody always wants to Tear into the Bricked Section of that 6" Hallway Piece)...

Busted In Door? Like it's Been Hit With One Too Many Fire Balls/ Barbarian Heads...

Cell Doors With A Barred Window would be Kewl...

And Yes Of Course the "Magical" Stargate-esque Portal Doors...

I have problems with the doors too. They're possibly the worst aspect of DF stuff. I wish the doors were just like the narrow passage ones (but bigger)

Here's an idea I saw some time back (Can't remember where). Please excuse the poor 'knock up' image.

The side 'flanges' rest on the tops of the corridor walls. This way you can place 'em anywhere. There is no base to them and they are also bottom heavy so they won't fall over.

You can make the brick surround as thick as you wish, thus making the doors smaller.

Chandler,

Actually, we agree with you about the doors. The main reason the doors were made as they were is so that the actual doors could be removed from the frame. It was thought at the time that this functionality was important.

There is a NEW door being cast right now that will be like the door from the Narrow Passage Set -- only 2 inches wide. It will come in the Fantasy Starter Set which is due out in Oct./Nov. That set will also include another new piece -- a half diagonal floor piece for use behind diagonal walls.

The Doors are Currently about 2" now (Including Frame)... For Double Doors we Make a Wide Corridor, (Using Wall Sections instead of Corridors), and use Two Doors next to Eachother... (I Have to say though that I Cheat and Use Doors from Both Hero Quest and Advanced Hero Quest once a Door has Been Opened)...

I Do Not Have the Advanced Builders Kit... (One of the Few I am Still Missing)... Do The Small Doors Open and Close?

In that case sell a kidney.....

Oh, You'll want to buy the Caverous passages BEFORE the Adv. Builder.

IMHO It is TOTALLY cool. Makes your cavern sets WAY more unique and twisty. Gotta be one of DF nicest sets. Just got my second set. :D

Adv. builder can wait (But, Not long!!! ;) )

That depends on what your focus is rooms or caverns. I bought 2 AB long before I bought Cavernous passages. They are nice, but very pricey.

Ah, well I only play 3rd party material and my own. I try and balance the wilderness/city/underground. Rooms from maps that are made in modules are easier to tranlate into DF than Caverns.
