I did some Sci-Fi pics, they aren't perfect but if you want them let me know (i have been using them in my version for a few months now).

Question. Where are the walls from the Cavernous Rivers and Walls set? Can't seem to find them.

The walls are in the 'object tiles' group in order to be able to put them on top of the river and lake tiles.

I find myself in need of the MBS for TileMapper.

Can someone post a quick tutorial on converting my drawings to the format/xml set needed to use with TileMapper?

thx

Hi pfworks,

I allready downloaded your Images of the MBS as soon as they were available. But so far I did not find the time to create a TileSet from them (To much work and traveling in the job currently and no end in sight until the end of January or more probably 2010 ;) ).

The most important thing for the images is to scale them down to the 100 dpi size we use for the MM Tile sets, which means one DF-Square becomes exactly 100x100 pixel, e.g. 2x2 Tiles become 200x200 pixel, 8x8 Tiles 800x800 pixel, etc. .
The xml is the trickier part. It think there have been some earlier posts from arsthein and me myself about that and also from CRasterImage himself about the xml formats.
The best practice is to make a copy of an existing tile file, rename it appropriately and then delete most of the tile entries except for some examples. Then try to understand the file syntax (it's really not that difficult) and to change the sample entries so that they reference some of your images for the new set. Then add further tiles entries for the rest of the new images.
In oder to include the new set in the master tile set file just add the name of the new set file to the basetilesets= entry in e.g. the MasterMazeAllDrawings.set

Hopes that helps you to get a start with the xml stuff. Just try it out, the xml for a Tile Set is really not that complex and you can easily experiment with it. If you can find an editor with syntax highlighting for xml like vim, Ultraedit or one within a Development IDE, this might be helpful.

Cool. I think I'll do this once the DoE WA set comes in. I have a need for both of these sets real soon and I need to make maps.

thx

I love the Tile System! It is really fast and just the thing I was looking for.

Two questions....

#1 I downloaded the Ultimate download (dated 9/23/06) but I can't find the River set. I found the Lake set but not the River. Did I miss something?

#2 How do I edit the .set files to add my own photos/drawings? Do I need a specific program?

Thanks.

Ok,
I downloaded the file and checked it. It seems that there is still the old Version of the Ultimate file online.
I'll immediately try to upload the version that should be there and report again here, as soon as it has successfully been uploaded.

So, I uploaded the file again and now it should have found it's way to the servers, since I downloaded it myself and now it seems to be correct (the size should be 39.998 KB)

And now have fun creating maps and do not forget to upload them in the Cool Photos section.

Thanks, LoneStarr! Once again, you've done us a great service.

This will come in handy for mapping the Howling Cavern. Thus far, I've had to fill in the blanks by hand for the river sections.

Much obliged!
