By the way - I'd be a little concerned taking the DF stuff to a Convention - Have pieces left by themselves, or do you generally leave with everything you brought?
I only take the DF to Shore Leave; until this year, that was my 'home' con, and since I worked the Game Room committee, the stuff was locked in the room unless we were gaming. So no, it never grew legs. Fortunately (or perhaps just because), the crowd at Shore Leave is a pretty honest bunch of people - even the SCA punks know that to commit even petty crimes is grounds for permanent deletion from fannish society.
Besides, the gamers we get at SL are mostly regulars who know me, know Sandy, know Joe, the Game Room chair, and know EXACTLY what would happen to anyone who stole something (the body would never be found!). So even the criminal minds behave - at least as far as petty larceny is concerned.
Now, vandalism, that's been another question - at least a few years ago. But even that has improved.

See ya!

One of the most incredible things about Master Maze is that it goes back into the box. The styrofoam makes the boxes perfect travel containers. A friend of mine added velcro closures to the box lids, so they would stay closed, and I plan to do the same.

Having just moved last month, I really appreciate the boxes for storage. Now we just have to finish unpacking and get a table in the downstairs rec room for gaming. Whoo hoo!

i build wooden boxes almost the size of the styrofoam boxes for them. the other boxes took too much space in my living room. for the rare case it take some out of the house i have put my old neo geo (video game) transport case to new use.

I keep bags and styrofoam and boxes and pieces stored therein.

However, when I transport Master Maze to run at Owlcon (Houston's premier gaming convention, www.owlcon.com, plug plug), there's not enough time for setup and teardown if the pieces are still fully stored.

What I do in that case is take the pieces out of the styrofoam and bags (which I have to do for dungeon planning anyway), take the styrofoam out of the boxes, and carefully stack the bare pieces in the boxes. You use many fewer boxes that way, which helps a lot.

However, there's some inevitable wear and tear on the pieces. The worst is on the curved cavern wall pieces--there are some small stalagmites near the wall on each piece, and stacking and transporting "bare" has snapped most of them off. Oh, well; it's almost unnoticeable unless you know what you're looking for, and I wouldn't have MM if I didn't want to use it, and use implies some wear.
