cheers for the cool idea,

but do you guys really use df often and regularly in a roleplaing session???

I do and i found out the following:

the complex, fiddly pieces see use only on rare occasion or are never used
it takes too much time to set them up, when you are in a hurry to put
the combat evironment together.

So the following are rarely used:
- Advanced Builder II (except for the doors of course)
- Half Floors, Walls, Corners

For me the diagonal thingys would be nice and i would get a set for collectors
proposes, but for pratical use i see not much.

If you set up the dungeon the day before, it may not cause as much hassle to
use the complex pieces than for me, so it would have more use.

enough rant.
I would rather like some more decoration stuff like:
- new columns
- new pedastals
- larger pedestals etc...

You're not ranting, Green Knight, but
A-All of us set up and play differently, and
B-Even if you don't set pieces out in advance, a storage system that uses sterilite-type drawers instead of the original boxes allows one to take pieces out quickly and set them up fast. I just completed an inventory of every piece I have, by drawer (I have about 30 small and large sterilite-type drawers for DWF). I can now flip from my dungeon map to the parts list, pull things out and set up dungeon sections on my flying table almost as fast as I can just make a dungeon up when playing with the pieces.

I kept the orginal DWF boxes for taking DWF to another player's home or a Con, but at home, properly padded with pieces of foam(who doesn't have tons of those - from all the figure blisters!) the drawers are much faster and easier to use. My drawers are on the other side of the passage from the table, so I can just pick, turn and place.

I know most of us don't have a large wargaming facility, but sterilite and similar makes produce drawers on wheels which would serve the same purpose and could be rolled into a closet or other unused spot when not playing, then wheeled out immediately next to the playing surface.

It also helps if you are only displaying what the players can see - underground, often as little as 5-10 meters. Then less is out at the same time. I find this also produces a sense of closeness and nervousness in the players! They have to rely on their map...

Now if I can only figure out how to use the computer DWF piece maps, I'll have a complete system.

Hmmm....those are very interesting, perhaps I could use some of those in a future "funky shapes" set? Or else, perhaps a smallish diagonal Set might be possible...as always, we need to make sure to sell enough sets to make factory minimums...
Many of the Board Game companies have a website locastion for people to pledge to buy a game. When they get enough pledges, they ask for down payments, then they make the game. Typically people who make the committments that fund the set (I"m sure the companies set the minimum a the level where they break even) get some kind of price break. Some companies require a down payment to post on the subscription committment board - that's safer but a lot more trouble (you have to have escrow accounts in the bank etc to be legally safe).

I suggest this would be easy for DWF to do, and given what I see on the boards, I suspect you would get sets popularly approved - like this one - subscribed pretty quickly. If not, you've only lost a little bandwidth on the website.

I would be in for at least one such set, esp. it if had either 6" corridors and/or 6" curves included!

As an avid collector of DF Sets I also own an old 25 Curved Walls Set and was wondering why it was taken out of the product line at all?

Yeah, I really wish we could have a set with them. I know they sell single diagonals, but those variant arcs you propose really would "rock the free world" as one poster like to put things. I think it would rock both the free and non-free world myself.
