Aracon - Where is "this years event" that you are referring to? I am assuming its "invite only"?

Harneloot, I PM'ed you the details.

Yup, we've been playing invite only events for the past seven years. My players gave up on Gen Con when they saw beanie babies for sale at booths there....

Aracon;

If you're local to Mid-Atlantic, I'd purely love to see you at the Big Game Saturday at Shore Leave. Local being anywhere in the US with cash enough to take a plane/train/bus/automobile to Baltimore Maryland.
I don't know what I can do to convince you, but I WILL tell you that I have @50 boxed sets of DF, plus too-frakkin'-many-individual-pieces-to-count, plus several home-made and conversion pieces. ReBob (my gaming collaborator and fellow weirdy) and I have cooked up a whing-dinger of a "Uh-OH!!" game for this year, and I will let ONE hint out right now;

ALL DF genres will be used for this Mike-IO-style, multilevel Lexan setup. Characters from D&D 3.0/3.5, D20 DragonStar, and D20 Modern, will be allowed, with the exception of Super-Duper, death-to-mess-with, Darth Vader-level types. Also, I prefer not to work with Psychics, but if necessary (and pre-registered with me), then I'll bone up on them and be prepared. In addition, I will have pre-generated characters available for walk-ins. The game will be limited to a party of 8, including all classes. There will be ONE GM discretionary character in addition to those 8, and he will pop up somewhere along the way.

And that's about all I'm going to say on this matter, except that I DO hope you can change your mind and join us. For more info on Shore Leave, go to

http://www.shore-leave.com

and you'll find out more than you were expecting about the convention.

Hope to see ya there, and if not,

See ya!

By the way; It is NOT my aim to kill-off all the characters; it IS my aim to give you a genuine chance to kick @$$, take names, and generally have fun. That doesn't mean you won't have the opportunity to 'lose' a character, but both you and I (as GM) will have to work at it to ditch your old, boring character that you want an excuse to replace. No suicides in MY game; if you want him/her to die, then look for an honest chance, or be prepared to fight for it.

Jim,

So does that mean only 8 players for your Saturday extravaganza? How many are already signed up???

Jim,

If I do have some free time in July, it will be spent filling in bowties, lol.

My count just went up with the inventory error!!! (Although I have this empty feeling in my stomach that Harnelooter swiped what I needed as I was writing him an email.)

I'm in the midwest, but do travel a bit out east occassionally.

Jim, you up for a trip to Gen Con this year? If we convinced a few more we could have a fairly massive game with multiple adventure zones and PC's transferring between sites...

I've accumulated over 100 sets so that would give us 150+.

Aracon,

I tried to get to GenCon last year (even had a pair of registrations for Sandy & me, which I lost money on!) but personal issues blasted that. Since I'm working Shore Leave this year, I won't have cash/time for Gencon this year. I will try for GC next year, all things being equal.
Too bad you won't be able to hit Shore Leave this year; it promises to be a great game (and the con should be pretty good, too - for those who actually get to any other events!).

See ya!

Jim

PS: let me know if things change and you can attend SL; I'll reserve a seat for you! You WILL have to be registered attendee of the con to play, however. No entry to the Game room without a con membership badge.
