The Envoy

The Envoy class spaceship is a small diplomatic ship that carries ambassadors to various important functions.
A flyby of the ship shows it first in overview from the front, where the two tier bridge sits with main view ports, and then a sunken navigation center. From the sunken navigation center crew and passengers can travel aft into the lower deck of the ship. From the upper viewing tier a retractable walkway leads into engineering.
From the viewing level there are entry doors into the upper crew section and into the storage bay. The viewing level and command level can be separated by removing the catwalk, allowing the command crew some small measure of security. Behind the command center is main engineering, with the computers and generators for the two Simm-Tam engines. Access to the engines is gained by walking along a catwalk between them or when powered down lowering the force field doors beside the hyper-matter chambers and entering the reaction chamber. Off of engineering are the crew quarters with a dinning area, and crew quarters and the captain’s quarters. Off the other side is the cargo hold with ships supplies and an access port to the landing bay bellow.

Sort of reminds me of those City platforms on that stormy planet where they made all the clones in Star Wars.

That's Kamino. Yukon = Giant Star Wars Geek.

Thanks for all the props, guys. It was a fun build, and I'm glad you like it.

Thanks YC, I would've completely forgotten about this contest!

My selection of Sci-Fi is a little funny, no Starters Sets (DF was out when I bought in) and no Gammas (I've been broke). Hopefully if I win I can fill out my missing pieces...

I hope image tags will suffice, as I still have a problem with my photos shrinking when I upload them.

Without further ado...

THE DEEP SEA LABORATORY

In the depths of the Churning Sea a whirring interrupts the deep sea life. Metal tracks run out in front and behind the strange vehicle.

Unsure of where they're going a group of adventurers peer through the port hole of the vessel and with a feeling of revulsion spot a strange sight.

The whirring ceases as the vehicle smoothly glides through the water and up to the metal station, miles below the surface of the sea. The feeling of foreboding and terror begins to grip the adventurers.

The porthole of their vessel connects with that of the station. A button beside the porthole lights, but none of the adventurers are brave enough to press it. They stand clutching their weapons, afraid of whatever gloom lurks in this undersea stronghold.

After several minutes of tense waiting one of adventurers fiddles with one of the controls of the vessel, and with a pop at the port hole the thing smoothly glides out and away from the station. To what other doom do the tracks lead through the dark depths?
