LAW

Plan your game room. Even if it never gets built... plan it, believe in it. Live in the head space that you WILL get what you DESERVE!

I have mine planned down to decor. Every decision from flooring to lighting has already been made.

Mine may be a dream. Not sure i will be able to get it to fly through permits (long story), or whether the treasury can cover it. It is linked to a complete rebuild of the garage. Next step is surveying property lines (i think it is too close, built in the lawless 70's) and trying to secure a variance, but that makes it harder to expand the footprint.

Still when i look at my drawings. The high ceiling with coffered beams, barn style pocket doors, 12' of cabinets and shelves, faux candle chandelier and electric fireplace/heater that looks like a hearth (not to mention fridge/sink/bathroom). I look at those drawing and ignore the fact that i am living out of cardboard boxes ;)

UH oh...

I am OUT of storage. I still have a carton of Castles sitting next to my desk (some of it never opened). I ordered a LOT of DoD. Where am i going to put this stuff?

Every inch of my closet is full. I suppose i could get rid of the clothes...

Perhaps one of the kids bedrooms? Does anyone want a 13yr old?

I really need my game room to get built...
This is precisely my problem (and I have no extra room being built). I've had real storage problems lately. Both cities and castles more than doubled my DF storage - hell, probably threefold increase. And while DoD shouldn't take up TOO much room (comparatively), I worry about ks6 caverns.

I have tried to pare down what I can - but honestly I'm reaching the endgame. There's only so much I can cut.

At some point I'm gonna have to scale back is what I'm fearing. The nature of castles means I doubt I could easily sell any of it - there's maybe 20% of wiggle room where if I sold something I could still make a castle the way I want. You kinda need it all. Cities - well, I could scale back and just make smaller cities but where's the fun in that? Plus, in the end about 40% of my city stuff is necessary for my castles. At the very least I use the basic stone walls and floors and posts. For some castles, Tudor as well. Often the street pieces. And on and on.

And I don't have much by way of KS1 and 2. Literally one medium bin and two small bins of each. So there's honestly no way to go down.

Hm. Hmmmmmm....

My wife and I have used this time to buy out all the storage bins we can get our hands on. We have about 25 HEFTY bins which should work out nicely and fit under a table.

Probably pick up some DVD shelves too for some of the bigger pieces.

Looking ahead to the next KS...might need to get more space. :)

I just thought of another idea! If you're out of space and you order even more DF, then you're probably going to be living in the doghouse anyway. That frees up your part of the bedroom closet and half the bed for storage.

If you got magnetized, stick sheet metal to the ceilings of all the rooms in your house and keep it up there.

Simple. Put the kid in the closet. Harry Potter turned out fine despite the negative propaganda about closet living.

If everything is going according to schedule, some time in April. I think we've heard things have gone mostly smoothly with only a few pieces from the factory requiring adjustments. I'd put my money on April/May. Nate has said June for the next KS, and they won't launch that until KS5 shipments are almost complete.

Is there an estimate yet as to when KS5 will ship in the US?

Fell asleep last night with the TV on
Oh what a dream i had
I dreamt i went and ordered every single thing
on those late night television ads

and four to six weeks later
much to my surprise
the mailman knocked on my front door

and i couldn't believe my eyes

cause i got a vegomatic, pocket fisherman too
illuminated illustrated history of life
boxcar willie and a ginsu knife...
