Q: if we use the platform to store old resins, and pack each box full. What will be a safe number of boxes to stack on top of each other? The struts that you are still trying to finalize. Will they be in contact to support the lid, or are they used to maintain integrity of the bottom portion only?

A: we're still testing the prototypes. Our goal is to have it be very sturdy and a safe place to hold lots of Dwarvenite or Resin

-----

Q: if painted will the grid surface stick to the lopgo surface, after being stacked (assume 5-10 boxes) for a while in temperature controlled storage?

A: I have no idea. We're still working with unpainted prototypes. But I imagine he paint will hold as well as it does to the rest of the DF products.

-----

Q: if unpainted, will the grid surface scratch/deform the logo surface?
A: it'll all be made if very durable ABS plastic so it should be highly resistant to damage

-----

Q: is the lid one single pressed piece? is the other portion also one single pressed piece? One of my friend is wondering, whether the box will shatter/crack if dropped (empty/half full/filled with resins). if it hits marble/granite floors on an edge/corner.

A: We haven't dropped one yet. Much less a full one. We'll definitely have to test.

-----

Q: will the corner and edges be sharp or smooth?
A: they will be slightly smooth.

-----

Q: How does the height of the Dungeon Bridge Base measure up to an Elevation Platform? For example, could I use one Bridge Base to come off an Elevation Platform?

A: yes! The base of the Elevation Platform if 1-5/8" high, the same height as the bridge and all out standard elevation pieces.

-----

Q: (special question) How to ensure the elevation storage box's surface will be flat/level within a certain tolerance factor? We would like to stack them 5-10 high with or without a padding layer between the boxes. And would hope the stack can be flush and looks nice. Our group is aiming for at least 30-40 of these painted/unpainted boxes for storing our cavernous, and other limited resins. We love the old resins and had been looking for a good solution (that also displays well) to store the tiles that are opened and being/potentially will be used in our shared pool.

A: (NATE) I love this!!!! Send us pictures. Once we have a final design and multiple prototypes in hand we'll stuff them full and test them.

Q: How can the elevation box be the exact height of the dungeon tiles, but also be able to fit the dungeon tiles inside of it? How is it bigger on the inside than on the outside? [Translation by the Knightess: What are the exact dimensions of the box interior? Exterior?]

A: Exterior is 300mm x 300mm. I think the interior is 294mm x 294mm.

Much easier to explain with a photo. The nesting design is such that When in storage mode the lid is higher than the tops of the tiles. It leaves 51mm of clearance inside. But when flipped over and inserted into the platform it reduces the total height to 50mm

-----

Q: Will the underside of the lid for elevation platform have floor squares so it may be used as a floor as well?

A: Because of the nesting design the lid is too tall to be a floor and too short to be a dais. In addition it has sides that are stepped in making it an awkward shape for building. As such it has a cool logo on it instead.

FROM 06/20/17 LIVESTREAM

Q: How many pieces can you store in the elevation platform? Does one box hold one encounter?

A:Part of the sturdiness of the platform will be due to internal struts, so we can’t tell you right this moment how much will fit in. We need the new prototype to come in so we can pack it full and then tell you.

The elevation platform:

Q: Is the interior padded?

A: No it is plain ABS inside

-----

Q:Will they fit old resins like Cavernous, Den of Evil, Hellscape?

A: Hopefully. We are still sorting out the arrangement of the interior support struts which break up the space inside. SO we're not sure how much stuff and what size they can hold just yet. Once we figure out we'll let everyone know.

-----

Q: Will they fit the KS5 grand double archway, and the stretch goal ancient pillars?

A: Hopefully - see above (the pieces would have to be laid down to fit in terms of height)

------

Q: The unpainted lid's surface where your company's trademark and the "iron" braces, will those be painted or left unpainted for the unpainted version.

A:Not sure yet. Probably unpainted is unpainted. But it would be nice to pop our logo a little :)

Q/A - Elevation Platform (Box + Lid)

Post by JenneyOC » Sun Jun 18, 2017 10:45 pm

Q: Will the elevation boxes be a add-on for purchase?
A: Yes

-----

Q: What are the elevation pieces/boxes made out of?
A: Dwarvenite-G

-----

Q: Will the 12x12 Elevation Platforms be available individually?

A: Yes, the 12x12 Elevation Platforms will be available individually as Add-ons. They'll be released later this week. We don't have the latest revised prototype in hand yet. It should arrive late this week (hopefully). I can't wait to show it off on camera. This thing is a beast. It's the most massive (and most expensive) DF piece ever made. It's thick and rigid Gorgonite. It has a few internal struts to give it enhanced rigidity. You'll be able to stack your resin pieces on it if you want. It feels really beefy in hand, and very satisfying to build on.

-----

Q: Are the tray elevations smooth on top and sides, printed with pattern? Or are they sculpted with a shallow relief?

A: They are smooth inside. But the top and sides have texture.
