Thank you all for the warm greeting. I have two pictures resized for viewing. Please let me know how I did with the description as compared to the pictures. I am finding the spring steel is working very well.

That's what the info from DF says, unless they changed it recently. :?:
Since the major fix a few years ago I have always had them fail unless smaller than that.
I hope you are right, but this is in their rules, so? We need that info updated if it has changed.

Maximum image dimensions for uploading are not 680px x 680px. You can see on my posts where I've posted images that you can upload images of larger dimensions. It's the file size that's important when uploading. Once the image is uploaded to the forum, then it looks like the forum will resize the image into those dimensions.

If you have taken it with your smartphone then your phone either has built-in features to resize an image, or you can download an app that will allow you to. I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and use an app called 'Photo & Picture Resizer' to resize the images I take and then post here.

Bill, welcome to the forums! Thanks for that tip.

If you email the photo to yourself, you should be able to resize it before sending the attachment. That's how I resize what I post on the DF boards.

A Fix for the Circular Sockets

Post by BillSha » Sat Aug 05, 2017 6:46 pm

I have fixed my Circular Sockets by installing a short piece of spring steel inside the socket. The bar is installed across the bottom of the plug and held in place by its ends being in the ring that is on the inside of the Circular Socket housing. I used spring steel from an old windshield wiper blade. The picture I have is 2.51MB. The bar supports the plug really good.
