Glad to hear your family is okay. Make sure the next car you drive is made of Dwarvenite.

Glad everyone is OK! Let's not try to replicate your study's findings anytime soon.

Main thing is that no one was hurt!
Stuff can be replaced, flesh cant!

Holym..!!

I've entered the forum to check if I should do already my preorder for Catacombs and couldn't believe what I was reading!

So you did have a car accident? man, I'm so glad you are all ok, hope insurance cover the car or relieve you as much as possible with the costs.

Crash Testing DwarvenForge

All

We don't spare any expense and resource to ensure you have the highest quality items with DwarvenForge.

In this respect Thod's Bazaar performed 2 crash tests.

Starting last year we did test out 2 Hirst Arts 4 inch Orc Towers. The test included to drop them from a height of < 1/2 meter in a basket.

The result was a pain to watch and it took us now nearly a year to do a comparison test with DwarvenForge.

To do this we assembled 4 layouts with a total of approx. 10 sets. For examples - look in the photo area and search for Blackros Museum.

We then stored the set-ups in our car while having an accident on a motorway - another car driving into our back. The car is in a sorry state and likely a write-off. But the damage to DF is still investigated - but so far is minimal with only a handful of pieces suffering any damage.

We will make some photos and hope to post them at some later stage.

-----------

Joking aside - everyone is well. I was traveling on the M25 outside London on my way to Crispycon with the whole family in the car. I can't say the same for the car. The boot isn't opening at all and it actually was quite difficult to retrieve all the setups from the car as they had to be taken out individually.
The other accident happened last year after Dragonmeet. The towers had already been placed safely into the car when my wife placed a printer into the car as well - and somehow managed to drop the basked with the towers.

All I can say is - there is only one clear winner here. The towers looked nearly like rubble. I didn't even wanted to make photos and a friend glued them back up again a few month later as I just didn't have the heard to puzzle them back up.

For DF - the worst hit is the DoE Extension doorway. One corner broke off from the Cavern to Dungeon piece and one corner broke off from a DoE room piece. One Cavern piece has a stalagmite that is shortened and one of the skull piles from the Lake Set lost the head.

There is some added wear at the sides and corners of the pieces. But that actually is quite minor. All this while it was a quite heavy impact. The car is 5 cm shorter now.
