If watching isn't your cup of tea, there's a good podcast done by Major Spoilers that is now over 400 episodes strong; they started when 4E came out. It's called Critical Hit, and they do an excellent job of detailing ideas for DMs and how to keep players involved, in character, and to get rid of meta knowledge.

No offence but I don't see how people can sit there for hours and watch someone else play D&D (Critical Role) I tried to I think I got into watching it for about 15 min and thought why I am looking at this haha. Maybe it is one of them things you need to watch more of it to get it ?
Thank you!! I thought I was the only one not catching on with this podcast gameplay craze. Even if my group can't play I'd rather spend my time writing/crafting/painting for a my campaign instead of watching others play theirs.

I also tried watching, but was not my cuppa. I would to this lists the soundtracks from various fantasy movies and the movies themselves. I have spent countless hours with LOTR or Conan providing the background.
My son and I listened to LOTR books on mp3 while painting a bunch of our GW LOTR minis. Good stuff.

Of course there is JourneyQuest (really covered under the Zombie Orephus Umbrella):

But i also really like Standard Action:

Both of these i find clever and sarcastically funny - i also see myself in a lot of what happens

Things to do alongside Dwarven Forge

Post by AnimeSensei » Mon Nov 13, 2017 2:00 pm

I thought it might be interesting to have a thread with links to things that could be commonly enjoyed by those partial to Dwarven Forge products. We have a collective consciousness of things we might enjoy, but sometimes we just haven't heard of something until someone tells us.

The Dwarvenaut - The Dwarven Forge and Stefan Pokorny biography that's located on Netflix. https://www.netflix.com/title/80104561

Critical Role - Video sessions of professional voice actors in their campaign. https://geekandsundry.com/shows/critical-role/

Order of the Stick - D&D based webcomic. Been going strong since 2003. Excellent writing and humor. http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots.html

The Gamers / Journey Quest - D&D and gaming based movies/TV shows. Started pretty low-budget but has grown since inception to have lots of shows. http://www.zombieorpheus.com/
