I think that was the retail packaging. I purchased most of my old Master Maze retail.

I suggest keeping the old boxes for resale value.

That label is what was on my boxes before I recycled them.

I am no expert but have done alot of reading and digging for the wiki. I have seen a handful of various sets with this type of labelling... they must be very early sets... before any web site existed. The 30 short passages set (MM-005) has only ever been listed on e-bay (in the last 3 years) with that type of label (my best guess is feedback from users was "30 is too many" so they came out with MM-010 - 15 short passages set). There was also a subset of the Room and Passage set that had similar labelling. It appears to have only been available a short time as well. I don't have that one on the wiki yet but i do have an image saved.

Is it because it's the "Premier Issue"? I'm curious to know what that indicator means -- first printing / very first set of new line?

Odd label

I'm sure it's legit, but I've never seen a box with this label on it before. To satisfy my curiosity, does anyone know when this set was likely produced?

Typically we see this label:

s-l1000[1].jpg (80.01 KiB) Viewed 313 times
Or this one for the non-tabbed sets: (I couldn't find one for the Room and Passage set, but the theme of the sticker is the same)

But this ebay listing has a much different label:
