The Sci-Fi sets are among my favorites too. They were actually the first DF that I bought at a Gencon many years ago that got me into DF!

I use them for a lot of Star Frontiers and Star Wars games 8-).

Here's another vote for them to be re-stocked and expanded...

Turns out there was 12 sets in the package - an extra room and an extra corridor pack. Woot!

I love that beta set with the curved passages. To be honest I haven't taken a plunge on collecting DF sci-fi because I haven't heard any possitive words about more sets coming out. I honestly think if they were kept in stock and new expansion sets were released with ramps, additions to build reactor cores ect. I'd buy quite a few.

Honestly sci-fi seems like a wonderful KS for DF in the future to gauge how much interest is out there for these sets and to get the word out to 40K fans and other sci-fi collectors that may not be looking at DF for their builds.

I agree that sci-fi would be a good theme for a KS. 1,000 sets does not seem like a lot to sell to make it viable.

My 10 sets arrived today (4 rooms, 5 corridors & 1 alpha). These are the first DF that i have seen close up since 1996 at gencon. I am just as amaded now as i was then.

Totally awestruck.

Might have to offer up my mint in box forgeworld reaver for more of the out of production kits...

Cudos stefan, beautiful work.

Ah thank you very much BioWizard to link my website !
I also started a huge sci-fi collection of the old sets no more produced or restocked.

Now I have :
-> 8 starter room sets
-> 3 passage sets
-> 2 alpha sets
-> 1 gamma expansion set (furniture).

I play zombicide and space hulk/crusade/doom/gears of war with it.
Th most useful set is the basic one to build rooms with a lot of straigh walls, corners, floor tiles and doors.
I completed it with a fan hand made in resin pieces :

http://griffonsforge.miiduu.com/dwarvenforgevariants

But I had huge difficulties to find the same color scheme once I got my pieces.

All this should be exposed in november to a huge game & modelism convention with GW fans playing WH40k with it for 3 consecutive days in Argeles sur Mer.(Festival du modélisme in south of France)

I also own the half of the beta set pieces but this one is hard to get.
I'm ready to buy it for a high price ... or to wait for a SCI FI KS ... Jeff any tip ?

Look at the following fan site:
http://www.lessouterrainsoublies.fr/Dec ... ction.html
http://www.lessouterrainsoublies.fr/Dec ... oires.html

It's in French but you'll probably guess what "Sets de Base" mean (Basic sets).

The Beta Set is presently unavailable in the product section. If you want it, add your voice to other DF fans to have it produced again!

What sci-fi sets do i need to focus on?

Post by galahad » Fri May 03, 2013 11:50 pm

I just scored 10 sci-fi kits (5 room, 4 passages, 1 beta)

What am I missing

My order next week will include the scenery kit.

Are there OOP sets I should search for?

Thanks for your help
