Cavernous river: waterfall

crioux,

EXCELLENT salvage work! Stunning - I mean that!
Man, you took what even I was ready to say "Dump it and start over!" and resurrected a masterpiece - or what will serve as one until a real masterpiece comes along, if it isn't one!
Way to GO! That is great, guy!

Good job.

I managed to salvage it. I even added a chest in the water to hide broken part.

I posted the pictures on HA forums

crioux,

I just wanted to add that unless you got a SERIOUSLY DAMAGED result that doesn't show up in the last pic you posted, I really DON'T see what you're upset about in your waterfall! I mean, YOU know what you were aiming for, but it looks GREAT to ME! Honestly, guy, unless you truly were looking for a glass-clear water flow between the arch-over and the turbulence effect at the base of the falls (sort of mid-drop), it looks correct to me!
Based on the appearance of the flow over the dams here in Baltimore County, we get white water over all three water-supply reservoir dams at flood level, and when I say white-water, that's EXACTLY what I mean! Yes, I have seen clear-water mid-arch, but it takes SERIOUS overflow for that to happen!
IF that's what you're looking for, try the Woodland Scenics Water Effects product; it can be a royal pain to work with until you're used to it, but I've heard NOTHING but good reports on it - and it's ALL low-temperature melt or non-chemical stuff; no monster fumes to deal with, as with some resin products I can think of.

Good luck, guy.

Jim

I have only used Casting craft resin, Enivrotex, and one of the Train scenery makers (woodland scenics or something like that) but for different effects never tried mixing them.

Oh and not knocking that you posted it over at HA, just mentionind i saw it there too.

I have a bit of HA myself. I have wanted to do something like this myself, but with lava ;) , but i can't justify spending the some odd $90 to get the molds i am interested in. But i think i found a way to get some bits to work with....

I think it actually looks good, the way water looks foamy near the waterfall...but you now need to make another "transition piece" that has the foamy whitish water gradually disipating and turning green...

I think the top layer reacted with the bottom layer and thet are both white.

Will try to remove as much as I can with tools and refill it.

I posted it on both sites to get maximum comments, and help! I was hoping to get help from someone who already used the water effects stuff.

I saw this over on the HA page, any chance you can pull the top layer off?
